Industri batubara pada tahun 2013, secara volume mengalami kenaikan. Produksi dan ekspor batubara Indonesia secara keseluruhan mengalami kenaikan volume. Namun kenaikan volume tersebut tidak diikuti dengan kenaikan harga jual. Sejak awal tahun, harga pembukaan batubara sekitar USD58/ton terus mengalami gejolak hingga ditutup pada akhir tahun dengan harga pada kisaran USD70/ton. Harga ini sebetulnya masih di bawah harga ekonomis bagi pengusaha batubara. Hal tersebut menyebabkan banyak pengusaha tambang batubara yang masih melakukan tindakan penundaan atau pengetatan biaya dalam melakukan penambangan. Pada gilirannya hal ini berdampak pada penyedia jasa kontraktor pertambangan.
Target Operasional 2013
Dengan kondisi pasar batubara yang demikian, Perseroan menetapkan target operasional 2013 secara total adalah 89,64 juta bcm overburden dan 15,16 juta ton coal. Target overburden menurun 1,2% sementara
Operational Overview
Prospect of Mining Business & Industry
Coal industry in 2013 saw an increase in volume. Indonesia’s coal production and export generally saw an increase in volume. However, the rise in volume was not followed with the increase in selling price. Since the beginning of the year, the opening coal selling price was USD58/ton and kept fluctuating before it was closed at USD70/ ton. This price was still below the economic price for coal businessmen who eventually delay or tighten the cost in mining activities. Consequently, it affects the business of coal mining services contractors.
Operational Target 2013
Given the condition of the coal market, the Company set the operational target for 2013 at 89.64 million bcm of overburden and 15.16 million tons of coal. The target of overburden dropped 1.2% whereas that
tahun 2012. Target ini kemudian diturunkan menjadi target per proyek. Target terbesar ditetapkan untuk proyek Bengalon Coal Project (BCP) sebesar 44,47 juta bcm overburden dan 5,71 juta ton coal. Diikuti oleh proyek Asam Asam Coal Project (ACP) sebesar 23,33 juta bcm overburden dan 6,06 juta ton coal. Proyek East Binungan Coal Project (EBCP) dan proyek Malinau Coal Project (MCP) menempati urutan berikutnya dengan masing-masing ditargetkan untuk menghasilkan sebesar 11,28 juta bcm overburden dan 1,14 juta ton coal untuk EBCP dan sebesar 8,56 juta bcm overburden dan 1,29 juta ton coal untuk MCP.
Jasa Kontraktor Pertambangan
Pada tahun 2013 Perseroan melayani jasa kontraktor batubara untuk empat proyek, yaitu Asam Asam, Bengalon, Binungan Timur dan Malinau.
- Asam Asam

P a d a t a h u n 2 0 1 3 , p r o y e k A s a m Asam menghasilkan 12,78 juta bcm overburden atau memberikan kontribusi s e b e s a r 1 9 % t e r h a d a p s e l u r u h produksi overburden Perseroan, dan menghasilkan 3,73 juta ton coal atau kontribusi sebesar 37% coal dari seluruh produksi coal Perseroan selama 2013. Ini berarti terjadi penurunan produksi sebanyak 58% untuk overburden dan 31% untuk coal dibandingkan dengan tahun 2012.
This target was then lowered to per project target. The highest target was set for the Bengalon Coal Project (BCP) at 44.47 million bcm overburden and 5.71 million tons of coal. It was followed by Asam Asam Coal Project (ACP) at 23.33 million bcm overburden and 6.06 million tons of coal. The target for East Binungan Coal Project (EBCP) and Malinau Coal Project (MCP) were at 11.28 million bcm overburden and 1.14 million tons of coal and 8.56 million bcm overburden and 1.29 million tons of coal, respectively.
Mining Contractor Services
In 2013, the Company provided coal mining services for four projects which are Asam Asam, Bengalon, East Binungan and Malinau.
- Asam Asam
Project Location: Asam Asam – South Kalimantan
Client: PT Arutmin Indonesia
In 2013, the Asam Asam project produced 12.78 million bcm overburden or contributed 19% to the Company’s total overburden production and 3.73 million tons of coal or contributed 37% of the Company’s total coal production in 2013. This means a 58% drop in the production of overburden and 31% drop in coal output compared to 2012. Prospect of Business and Industry

Lokasi Proyek: Bengalon – Kalimantan Timur
Klien: PT Kaltim Prima Coal
Pada tahun 2013, proyek Bengalon menghasilkan 38,22 juta bcm overburden atau memberikan kontribusi sebesar 58% terhadap seluruh produksi overburden Perseroan, dan menghasilkan 4,40 juta ton coal atau kontribusi sebesar 44% coal dari seluruh produksi coal Perseroan selama 2013. Ini berarti terjadi penurunan produksi sebanyak 25% untuk overburden dan 20% untuk coal dibandingkan dengan tahun 2012. Penurunan produksi disebabkan antara lain oleh curah hujan yang sangat tinggi. Selain itu jarak angkut overburden yang dihasilkan ternyata melebihi rata- rata jarak angkut yang diperhitungkan dan disetujui oleh klien yang sesuai dengan rencana penambangan. Faktor pemakaian alat yang tidak sesuai rencana juga merupakan salah satu faktor yang menurunkan tingkat produksi di lokasi ini.
Proyek Bengalon juga dinyatakan sebagai proyek dengan kinerja terbaik d a l a m p e n g e l o l a a n l i m b a h d a n hidrokarbon, di antara para kontraktor yang bekerja untuk PT Kaltim Prima Coal. Ini merupakan suatu pengakuan atas keunggulan operasional yang

- Bengalon
Project Location: Bengalon – East Kalimantan
Client: PT Kaltim Prima Coal
In 2013, the Bengalon project produced 38.22 million bcm of overburden or contributed 58% to total overburden output of the Company and produced 4.40 million tons of coal or contributed 44% to the total coal output in 2013. This means 25% decrease of overburden production and 20% decrease of coal production in 2012.
The production decrease caused by high rainfall. Besides, the distance of overburden transport was longer than the average calculated distance which approved by client in the mining plan. The use of equipment have not complied with the earlier planning has also been a factor that causes the output decline.
The Bengalon project was declared as the project with the best performance in waste and hydrocarbon management among the contractors serving for PT Kaltim Prima Coal. This is a recognition to the operational excellence of the Company.
- Binungan Timur

Klien: PT Berau Coal
Pada tahun 2013, proyek Binungan Timur menghasilkan 9,80 juta bcm overburden atau memberikan kontribusi sebesar 15% terhadap seluruh produksi overburden Perseroan, dan menghasilkan 943.510 ton coal atau kontribusi sebesar 9,3% coal dari seluruh produksi coal Perseroan selama 2013. Ini berarti terjadi peningkatan produksi sebanyak 27% untuk overburden dan 56% untuk coal dibandingkan dengan tahun 2012. Produksi di Binungan Timur dapat lebih ditingkatkan, namun terkendala dengan ketersediaan lahan untuk area kerja.
- Malinau

- East Binungan
Project Location: East Binungan - East Kalimantan
Client: PT Berau Coal
In 2013, the East Bingungan project p r o d u c e d 9 . 8 0 m i l l i o n b c m o f overburden or contributed 15% to the total overburden output of the Company and produced 943,510 tons of coal or contributed 9.3% of the total coal production of the Company in 2013. It means a 27% increase of overburden output and 56% rise of coal production in 2012.
The production in East Binungan can be improved but the lack of open field available for working area has hampered the effort.
- Malinau
Project Location: Malinau – East Kalimantan
menghasilkan 4,54 juta bcm overburden atau memberikan kontribusi sebesar 6,9% terhadap seluruh produksi overburden Perseroan, dan menghasilkan 1,29 juta ton coal.
Produksi di Malinau belum dapat ditingkatkan lebih jauh karena curah hujan yang sangat tinggi dan karena k u r a n g t e r s e d i a n y a l a h a n u n t u k melakukan proses dewatering.
- Jasa Lainnya
Selain melaksanakan operasional penambangan batubara, pada tahun 2013 Perseroan juga memulai proyek pembangungan infrastruktur. Ada dua proyek baru yang dilakukan pada tahun 2013.
- Tamtama Hauling Road Lokasi: Kalimantan Tengah Klien: PT Tamtama Perkasa
Proyek senilai sekitar USD8,33 juta ini mencakup jasa pembuatan jalan pengangkutan batubara sepanjang lebih dari 41 km di Kabupaten Barito,

The production in Malinau cannot be increased further because of high rainfall and the lack of open field for dewatering process.
- Other services
Aside from coal mining operations, in 2013 the Company also started infrastructure development. There were two new infrastructure projects in 2013.
- Coal Haul Road Upgrading Project Location: Central Kalimantan Client: PT Tamtama Perkasa
The USD8.33 million project consists of the reconstruction and improving of the 41 kilometers Tamtama Coal Haul Road to transport coal in the Barito Regency,
- Earthwork untuk Fasilitas PIT B/C di Bengalon
Lokasi: Kalimantan Timur Klien: PT Kaltim Prima Coal
Proyek senilai sekitar USD3,9 juta ini mencakup jasa pembangunan Tahap I fasilitas area workshop, kantor dan stasiun bahan bakar untuk area PIT B/C di lokasi proyek Bengalon. Lama proyek adalah sekitar 180 hari pekerjaan.
- Earthwork for PIT B/C Facilities in Bengalon
Location: East Kalimantan Client: PT Kaltim Prima Coal
This USD3.9 million project comprises of the Phase I construction of facilities in workshop area, office and fuel station for PIT B/C in the Bengalon site. This project runs for 180 days.
Prospek 2014
Perseroan telah merintis dan menjajaki beberapa peluang proyek baru yang dapat dilaksanakan mulai tahun 2014. Proyek-proyek ini mencakup beberapa proyek penambangan baru di Kalimantan dan Sumatera, serta proyek infrastruktur. Perseroan merasa optimis dan siap menghadapi tahun 2014.
Pengembangan pasar dan usaha yang sudah diupayakan sejak beberapa tahun yang lalu menjanjikan proyek-proyek baru yang dapat menambah basis pelanggan dan pengalaman Perseroan.
Prospect 2014
The Company has initiated and assessed some new project opportunities that can be carried out in 2014. These projects include some new mining activities in Kalimantan and Sumatra as well as infrastructure projects. The Company is upbeat about the challenges in 2014.
Market and business development that has been initiated a few years ago look to bring potential new projects that will add basis of customers and experience for the Company.
