Special Olympics Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that provides regular sports training, competition opportunities and development programs for people with an
intellectual disability across Australia.
We are currently seeking a qualified Swim Australia or any equivalent Teacher who can provide stroke assistance and training support on Thursday nights for athletes with
intellectually disabilities.
Special Olympics Australia has a proud history of creating opportunities for swimmers to merge passion and ability in regular sport participation. The role will provide stroke correction and technical skill development to support athletes in achieving their goals.
When:
Thursday nights during school terms 7pm-8pm
Where:
Oakhill College Swimming Pool, 423 Old Northern Rd Castle Hill
To Start:
Term 1, 2017
Competencies / Skills required:
Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to be flexible and to improvise when needed
Ability to inspire and motivate others to believe in the Special Olympics Mission Well-developed interpersonal skills
Understanding of relevant WH&S requirements Good time management skills
Experience / Education Required:
A minimum Bronze Licence swimming coach accreditation Has experience as a competitor and/or coach in swimming
Desirable:
Current registration with ASCTA/
Swim Australia or any equivalent Teacher of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion Previous coaching experience
Experience working within a disability setting Knowledge of Special Olympics Australia and programs
Compulsory:
Working with Children Check & Police Check
Rate:
$35.00 per session
Special Olympics Australia is a child safe organisation and conducts relevant checks as part of a volunteer screening.
