SICK AND HOMEBOUND MINISTRY
Greetings! This is a twofold message for our Parish Family!
One great way of Evangelization is to
minister outside of the four walls of the Parish. As we go forth post shut down, many pleas are coming from both in and out of our Parish. Folks are seek- ing Jesus in the Eucharist to be brought to hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and rehab facilities and to residential homes. I am seeking St. Edith family members to become Ambassadors of Christ to help minister to our brothers and sisters who seek Holy Communion. Please contact Deacon Don if you are willing to answer this call!
The second part of the message is this: if you or someone you know is homebound or hospitalized, please contact Deacon Don to arrange for someone to bring Holy Communion, and to pray and visit with those who are unable to come to Church to receive the Eucharist. This ministry is for anyone who is of Sacrament age and older! Arrangements can be made to have regular visits, but we need to know the details.
Peace,
In Christ,
Deacon Don Esler

Religious Education Classes
Planning is underway for Religious Education Classes for the 2021
2022 school year. We are planning to be back to inperson learning for the Fall with safety protocols, pending vaccinations for those younger than 12 years old. Once again, we will do whatever will be necessary to assist parents in their children’s faith formation.
Volunteers Needed
Have you ever considered sharing your faith with our young people and would you be willing to commit an hour or so a week by being a Catechist or a Classroom Aide? If so, please contact me at lkramer@stedith.org or call me at 7344642020, ext. 308. Being a Catechist is a rewarding experience that not only teaches our young people, but strengthens your relationship with Jesus at the same time!
The Fruits of the Holy Spirit
The last Fruit of the Spirit is selfcontrol.
Selfcontrol helps us to resist temptation and avoid conforming to the things of this world. By using selfcontrol, it helps guide our decisions; and it allows us to better use the other Fruits of the Spirit in our lives. Some ways to cultivate selfcontrol would be to truly listen to others’ words and not interrupt them, controlling our re- actions when we feel angry or frustrated and not acting impulsively. If you think about the practice of fasting during Lent this helps us prac- tice restraint so fast from saying or doing everything you wish.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for all the desires you have given me as they remind me of the desire in my heart which only you can fill. Help me to control my tongue and therefore my words;
my hands so I use them to do only your work; my mind so that I may focus on doing good deeds.
Blessings my friends, Linda
