ABSTRACT
The paper entitled “English Vocabulary of a 7 Year Old American Boy” analysed about the types of words in the English language with the term parts of speech. The writer analysed the data to determine the most dominant of the parts of speech. All the data were taken by analyzing a 7 year old American boy directly. The analysis has been done by recording the dialogue between a 7 year old American boy along with his father and the writer. The width of the video about 10 minutes for 1 time that was taken 2 times. There are nine types of parts of speech in English, those are: Noun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb, Pronoun, Preposition, Conjunction, Interjection, and the Article and all the parts of speech were found in a 7 year old American boy’s vocabulary. Each of part of speech has several functions in English. Each of type of parts of speech is determined by the type of the word. The method used in this study was descriptive and qualitative method by using case study or approach method to get the most dominant of the parts of speech. There were 98 English vocabularies in English
vocabulary of a 7 year old American boy, those were 45,9% nouns, 16,3% verbs, 12,2%
