ABSTRACT
The survey research is aimed to know the classification of soils at south slope of mount Burni Telong. This research had been conducted in in February – September 2014 at Sub district Bukit, District Bener Meriah, Aceh Province. Two selected pedons were observed at middle slop (Va.1.6.1t) and bottom slope (Va.1.4.1t). Soil samples were taken from each horizon for analysis soil texture, bulk density, pH H2O, pH KCl, pH NaF, Aldd, CEC, Base Saturation, Organic content, P-retention, Al-oxalate extracted (Alo), Si- oxalate extracted (Sio), and Fe- oxalate extracted (Feo) in Research and Technology Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty of North Sumatera University, Medan and Soil Laboratory, Soil Research Institute, Bogor.
The result of the observation and the analysis showed that the middle slope soil (Va.1.6.1t) is classified into sub group Humic Psammentic Dystrudepts however the bottom slope soil (Va.1.4.1t) is classified into sub group Typic Hapludand according to Soil Taxonomy Twelfth Edition, 2014.
