KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN
Pada bab ini berisikan kesimpulan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan.
Kesimpulan berisikan jawaban dari rumusan masalah yang telah ditetapkan pada awal penelitian. Adapun saran ditujukan kepada penelitian yang akan dilakukan kedepannya.
V.1 Kesimpulan
Berdasarkan temuan dari hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan sebagai berikut:
1. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis kopi berpengaruh secara signifikan kepada seluruh indikator penelitian (p-value < 0,050).
Pengkonsumsian jenis kopi arabika dan robusta dapat mengurangi penurunan kewaspadaan saat aktivitas mengemudikan kereta api
2. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa jenis kopi robusta memiliki pengaruh yang lebih signifikan dibandingkan kopi arabika dalam upaya mitigasi penurunan kewaspadaan. Partisipan yang mengkonsumsi kopi robusta memiliki perbedaan efek yang signifikan terhadap partisipan yang mengkonsumsi kopi arabika dalam paremeter mean RT, mean 1/RT, dan
%minor lapses. Kemudian partisipan yang mengkonsumsi kopi robusta memiliki perbedaan efek yang signifikan terhadap partisipan yang tidak mengkonsumsi kopi dalam semua paremeter penelitian (mean RT, mean 1/RT, %minor lapses, KSS, dan HR). Sedangkan partisipan yang mengkonsumsi kopi arabika hanya memiliki perbedaan efek yang signifikan terhadap partisipan yang tidak mengkonsumsi kopi pada indikator HR saja. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut diketahui bahwa jenis kopi robusta merupakan jenis kopi yang sebaiknya diminum dalam upaya mitigasi penurunan kewaspadaan saat aktivitas mengemudikan kereta api dengan kondisi kekurangan tidur.

Berdasarkan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, berikut adalah beberapa saran yang diberikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
1. Menambahkan alat ukur tingkat kewaspadaan fisiologis, contohnya EEG dalam penelitian. Hal tersebut agar hasil penelitian yang didapatkan dapat lebih maksimal.
2. Penelitian kali ini berbasis eksperimen di laboratorium (laboratory study) dengan beberapa variabel terkontrol. Kondisi tersebut tentunya berbeda dengan kondisi nyata. Pada penelitian berikutnya dapat dilakukan pengujian perbandingan efek jenis kopi di lapangan (field study) berdasarkan kondisi nyata.
3. Pada penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk menggunakan power of statistics minimal 80% agar hasil penelitian yang didapatkan lebih akurat.
4. Pada penelitian selanjutya juga dapat dikaji pengaruh lingkungan yang terdapat pada kabin lokomotif (suhu, pencahayaan, temperatur, dan lain- lain) serta kualitas tidur (sleep efficiency) partisipan yang pada penelitian ini masih dikontrol.
5. PT. KAI dapat menyediakan kopi dengan jenis robusta untuk disediakan di setiap stasiun kereta api maupun kafetaria agar para masinis dapat mengkonsumsi kopi tersebut dalam upaya memitigasi penurunan kewaspadaan akibat kelelahan yang mereka alami.
