WIKA SIMANJUNTAK:ResponsPertumbuhandan Hasil Sorgum (Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) Terhadap Jarak Tanam dan Waktu Penyiangan Gulma. Dibimbing oleh EDISON PURBA dan T. IRMANSYAH.
Tujuan penelitian untuk melihat respons pertumbuhan dan hasil sorgum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) terhadap jarak tanam dan waktu penyiangan gulma.Penelitian dilaksanakan di Jl. Tri Darma Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan dengan ketinggian25 meter di atas permukaan laut mulai dari bulan Desember2014 hingga April 2015, menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan dua faktor yaitu jarak tanam (70x30, 70x20, 70x10) dan waktu penyiangan gulma (tanpa penyiangan, disiangi 2 MST, disiangi 4 MST, disiangi 6 MST, disiangi 8 MST, bebas gulma).
Parameter yang diamati tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, umur berbunga, berat basah malai per sampel, berat basah malai per plot, produksi biji per sampel, produksi biji per plot, bobot 1000 biji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan jarak tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman pada umur 6 dan 8 MST berat basah malai per sampel. Waktu penyiangan gulma berpengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman 6 dan 8 MST, jumlah daun umur 4, 6 dan 8 MST, diameter batang 4,5,6,7 dan 8 MST, berat basah malai per sampel, berat basah malai per plot, produksi biji per sampel, produksi biji per plot, dan bobot 1000 biji.

The aim of this research was to observe the response growth and result sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) with spacing and weeding time. This research was conducted at Jl. Tri Darma Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medanwith altitude 25meter above sea level with 2 factor namely spacing (70x30, 70x20, 70x10) and weeding time (without weeding, 2 weeks after planting, 4 weeks after planting, 6 weeks after planting, 8 weeks after planting, clean weeding).
Observed paramaters were plant height, number of leaves, diameter of stem, days of flowering, wet weight of tassel per sample, wet weight of tessel per plot, sample seed production, plot seed production, weight of 1000 seed. This research showed the treatment of spacing had a significant effect against height of plant at 6 and 8 week after plant and wet weight of tassel per sample.Weeding time had a significant effect against plant height 6 and 8 after planting, number of leaves 4 6 and 8 after planting, diameter of stem 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 weeks after planting, days of flowering, wet weight of tassel per sample, wet weight of tessel per plot, sample seed production, plot seed production, weight of 1000 seed.
