AKTIVITAS ANTIDIARE SEDUHAN TEH HIJAU DAN TEH HITAM (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze) PADA MENCIT JANTAN

ANTIDIARRHEAL ACTIVITY OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF GREEN TEA AND BLACK TEA ( Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze ) IN MALE MICE
ABSTRACT
Tea (Camellia sinensis L. Kutze) contains catechins , caffeine (2-3 %), theobromine , theofilin , tannins (epigallocatechin - 3 - gallate ( EGCG)), L - theanine , essential oils and flavonoids. Tannin compound has adstrigen which needed to prevent dysentry and diarrhea, adstrigen able to shrivel the intestine mucous membrane as the result it can decrease the excretion of fluids and obstruct the secretion of electrolyte. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of anti-diarrhea from brewed green tea and black tea on oleum ricini induced diarrhe mice.
Packed tea brewed with hot water, then the green tea and black tea brewed and given orally with dose of 1750 mg/kgBW , 3500 mg/kg BW and 7000 mg/kgBW dose, and loperamid HCl 2 mg as a standart. The data that were measured were by using defecation method which comprises the diarrhea begins, feces frequency, feces weight every 30 minutes for 6 hours, and anti-secretory method by scaling volume of instestinal contents.
Observation the effects of anti-diarrhea from brewed green tea (STHJ) and black tea (STHT) significantly different (P<0,05) with oleum ricini as negatif control and CMC 1%. Black tea with the dose of 7000 mg/kgBW has the same effect (P>0,05) with green tea 3500 mg/kgBW. The green tea with the dose of 7000 mg/kgBW has the same effect with loperamid HCl 2 mg. As the conclusion, green tea and black tea have anti-diarrhea effect.
