Henny Crosita Limbong (130304068) dengan judul skripsi “Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Ketersediaaan dan Konsumsi Makanan Berpati (Ubi Kayu dan Ubi Jalar) di Sumatera Utara” di bawah bimbingan Bapak Dr. Ir. Satia Negara Lubis, MEc sebagai Ketua Pembimbing dan Bapak H. M. Mozart B. Darus, MSc sebagai Anggota Pembimbing.
Tujuan Penelitian adalah: untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa sajakah yang mempengaruhi ketersediaan makanan berpati (ubi kayu dan ubi jalar) di Sumatera Utara dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa sajakah yang mempengaruhi konsumsi makanan berpati (ubi kayu dan ubi jalar) di Sumatera Utara.
Metode penentuan daerah penelitian ditentukan secara purposive (sengaja). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah regresi Linier Berganda dengan data tahunan periode 2001-2015. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder. Data sekunder diperoleh melalui instansi-instansi yang terkait seperti BPS, Dinas Pertanian Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Peternakan Provinsi Sumatera Utara dan Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Sumatera Utara.
Hasil penelitian antara lain: Ketersediaan ubi kayu di Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara serempak dipengaruhi oleh luas panen ubi kayu, harga ubi kayu, jumlah penduduk dan konsumsi ubi kayu sedangkan secara parsial hanya dipengaruhi oleh luas panen ubi kayu dan harga ubi kayu. Ketersediaan ubi jalar di Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara serempak dipengaruhi oleh luas panen ubi jalar, harga ubi jalar, jumlah penduduk dan konsumsi ubi jalar sedangkan secara parsial hanya dipengaruhi oleh luas panen ubi jalar dan harga ubi jalar. Konsumsi ubi kayu di Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara serempak tidak dipengaruhi oleh harga ubi kayu, harga tepung, produksi ubi kayu dan pendapatan perkapita dan secara parsial konsumsi ubi kayu dipengaruhi oleh pendapatan. Konsumsi ubi jalar di Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara serempak dipengaruhi oleh harga ubi jalar, harga tepung, produksi ubi jalar dan pendapatan perkapita sedangkan secara parsial konsumsi ubi jalar dipengaruhi oleh harga tepung dan pendapatan perkapita.

Henny Crosita Limbong (130304068) with the thesis entitled, “The Factors which Influence the Availability and the Consumption of starch Food (Cassava
and Yam) in North Sumatera,” supervised by Dr. Ir. Satia Negara Lubis. Mec as
the Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee and H.M. Mozart B. Darus, M.Sc
as the Member of the Advisory Committee.
The objective of the research was to find out some factors which influenced the availability of starch food (cassava and yam) in North Sumatera and some factors which influenced the consumption of starch food (cassava and yam) in North Sumatera. The research area was determined purposively. Secondary data were obtained from the government agencies like BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics), the Food Plant Agriculture Agencies, the Food and Husbandry Security Agency, and the Industry and Commerce Agency of North Sumatera.
The result of the research showed that the availability of cassava in North Sumatera, simultaneously, was influenced by its harvest area, its price, and its consumption, and the number of inhabitants; partially, it was influenced only by its harvest area and its price. The availability of yam in North Sumatera, simultaneously, was influenced by its harvest area, its price, its consumption, and the number of inhabitants; partially, it was influenced only by its harvest area and its price. The consumption of cassava in North Sumatera, simultaneously, was not influenced by its price, the price of its starch, its production, and per capita income; partially, it was influenced only by income. The consumption of yam in North Sumatera, simultaneously, was influenced by its price, the price of its starch, its production, and per capita income; partially, it was influenced by the price of its starch, and per capita income.
