Abstract
Diabetes
Mellitus
(DM)
can develop many various complications, both macrovascular and microvascular. Diabetic FootUlcer
(DFU) is
a common complicationin
diabetic patients. Injuries and other problems in the feet is a major cause of morbidity,disability
and
mortality.
Nurseis
responsibleto identify
the
risk
factorsof
DFU
so that
the incidenceof DFU
can be prevented. This study aimedto
determine the most influence factors onDFU
incidencein
RSUP Sanglah Denpasar.This
study design was a casecontrol
study with
80 samples i.e. 40DM
patientswith
ulcer and 40 patientswith
non-ulcer. Multivariate analysis using
multiple
regressionlogistic
was employed. From thetotal
nine
variablesbeing
studiedonly
the history
of
recurrentulcer or
amputationvariable that
is
statistically provento
affect theDFU
(OR:
8.5;95%
CI:2.1
-
33.5).Meanwhile, other variables do not prove to be statistically affect the
DFU
(the sensory neuropathy, the motor neuropathy,autonomicneuropathy,
sex,
foot
care, history
of
DM,
ageand
blood glucose levels). 54Yo the incidenceof
DFU
influencedby
factors studied,while
46%is
influencedby
other factors.It
is
reccommended thatfor
a nurseto provide health education
foot
care, particularly preventive measuresin
