ABSTRAK
Gangguan menstruasi merupakan indikator penting yang menunjukkan adanya gangguan fungsi sistem reproduksi yang dapat dihubungkan dengan peningkatan risiko berbagai penyakit seperti kanker rahim dan payudara, infertilitas serta fracture tulang. Siklus menstruasi dipengaruhi oleh berbagi faktor seperti stres, gangguan hormonal, pertumbuhan organ reproduksi, status gizi, usia, dan penyakit metabolik seperti Diabetes Melitus. Stres cenderung semakin meningkat pada mahasiswa tahun akhir. Ini dapat menyebabkan terganggunya siklus menstruasi. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan stress dengan siklus menstruasi pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara tahun masuk 2012.
Penelitian ini bersifat analitik, dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara tahun masuk 2012. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 180 orang dipilih dengan teknik
consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data tingkat stress dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner DASS 42 dan data siklus menstruasi diisi pada identitas responden.
Hasil penelitian dengan uji analisis Spearman menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan stres dengan siklus menstruasi, dengan nilai p=0,896 (p>0,05).
Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat hubungan stress dengan siklus menstruasi .

ABSTRACT
Menstrual disorders is an important indicator that shows the function of the reproductive system disorders that may be associated with an increased risk of various diseases such as cervical and breast cancer, infertility and bone fracture. The menstrual cycle is influenced by shared factors such as stress, hormonal disorders, reproductive organ growth, nutritional status, age, and metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Stress tends to increase in the end of the year students. This can lead to disruption of the menstrual cycle. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the relationship of stress to the menstrual cycle student of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of North Sumatra entrance year of 2012.
This research is an analytical, cross-sectional study design. The study population is a student of the Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra registered in 2012. The total sample of 180 people selected with consecutive sampling technique. Stress level data collection is done by filling out the questionnaire DASS 42 and filled menstrual cycle data on the identity of the respondents.
The results of research to test Spearman analysis showed no relationship stress with the menstrual cycle, with a value of p = 0.896 (p> 0.05).
The conclusion in this study there was no association of stress with the menstrual cycle.
