Alfred Bicentennial Choir needs you!

To honor our heritage of church choral music, an ecumenical/community choir will start the evening festivities for Alfred's Bicentennial Celebration on Saturday, June 2 at about 6:32 p.m. All are invited to join this choir as we perform music of (or inspired by) the early 19th century and our love of singing.

Rehearsals will start Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m. in Room 301 of the Miller Performing Arts Center at Alfred University. Please see the attached flyer for more details and a tentative list of music.

And please spread the word to all your singing friends, family, and neighbors from the Village and Town of Alfred and to those who are Alfredians at heart!

Summer School begins today Summer Session I classes begin today.

Office Services Summer Hours

Office Services will be taking advantage of the summer hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. beginning May 14th. Please have your out going mail down to Office Services by 2:30 p.m. each day. Any questions please call x2698.

PCC Mailroom Summer Hours

The PCC Mailroom will be taking advantage of the summer hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. being offered beginning May 14th. If you have any questions please call x2666.

Mailroom Closing for Lunch

The Powell Campus Center Mailroom will be closing from 12:00 - 12:30 beginning May 14th until summer hours end in August.

Business Offices summer hours

Effective Monday, May 14-Friday, Aug. 17, the Business Office in Carnegie Hall, Student Service Center (Student Accounts and Registrar) in Seidlin, Payroll and Procurement in Greene Hall and Research &

Grants Accounting in Binns Merrill will be open for business from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. during the summer.

Looking for summer lifeguards

I am looking for Red Cross Certified Lifeguards who might be interested in working at the AU pool this summer. Please contact Brian Striker at [email protected] if you, or anyone you know might be interested.

TIAA/CREF Financial Education Seminar

Some of you who are closer to retirement age received a personal invitation at your home to attend this seminar on "Getting Ready for Retirement" being presented by Mr. Mark Couch our TIAA-CREF Representative from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16th in the Orvis Auditorium on the Alfred State Campus. If you reserved your seat previously via the TIAA/CREF website, please call 877-

209-3144 and verify that TIAA-CREF has your reservation. There is a problem with their website and prior reservations may not have been received. For those of you who have received an invitation, but have not registered, please reserve a seat by calling the number listed above.

Fun-Bun Walk and Run results

Visiting families, community members, students, and alumni enjoyed a healthy, fun start to Hot Dog Day by participating in the 5K Fun-Bun Walk and Run.

Walkers and runners received the coveted gold, silver, and bronze bun medals for first, second, and third place. The Fun-Bun Walk and Run was sponsored by Alfred University Health and Wellness Education Program, the Counseling and Student Development Center, and the Women's Leadership Center.

The Women's Leadership Center provided elegant silver business card holders to the first three woman runners and gift bags to the first-place winners from each group. The Counseling and Student

Development Center and Health and Wellness provided a yummy low-fat, organic (of course) hot dog lunch to each group winner.

If you missed out on the 2007 Fun-Bun Walk and Run, don't forget about us next year!

Notice to CWS employers for 2007-08

If you are planning on hiring CWS students for the 2007-08 academic year, you will need to complete a Federal College Work-Study Position Request/Job Description. Click on the link below to access the form and instructions. The completed forms are due at the Financial Aid Office by July 15, 2007.

Office Max Product Show

There will be an Office Max Product Show on Wednesday, May 16 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Pioneer Center on the first floor, Alfred State College. Everyone is invited to attend.

Color photocopier available on campus

To better serve the Alfred University community, Office Services, located in Greene Hall on the first floor, has acquired a color photo copier for campus copying.

The cost of single copies will be:

$.60 for letter size

$.80 for legal size

$1.10 for ledger size

Please call x2698 for Frank DiRaimondo for a quote on larger copy jobs. Discounts available depending upon the number of copies to be made.

You may send your printing jobs and printing request forms electronically through e-mail to Frank DiRaimondo or Sue Peck to have your copy jobs processed.
