DEVELOPMENT OF DIABETES SELF CARE

ASSESSMENT TOOL (D-SCAT): CONCEPTUALIZATION AND ASSESSMENT OF SELF-CARE IN A REAL LIFE

BACKGROUND

The new standard of care guidelines for type 2 diabetes place patients in a key role in achieving ongoing self-care behavior and daily glycemic control. This approach also assumes that a combination of ongoing motivation and relevant information will increase self-reflection on their self-care behavior (Ferrante et al. 2010).

METHODS Study Setting

Thurstone scale - the one-dimensional scale was used in this study in order to maintain the patient's self-care behavioral tract. Method: A focus group of patients was conducted to further verify the self-care practice of patients with type 2 diabetes in the existing setting. Examples of personal, psychosocial and physical attributes of self-care from the perspective of patients with type 2 diabetes are summarized in Table 2.

This finding provides the basis for understanding the concept of self-care practiced by type 2 diabetes patients in the existing psychosocial context.

Table 6.1 Characteristic Patients with Type-2 Diabetes Involved in Focus Group
Table 6.1 Characteristic Patients with Type-2 Diabetes Involved in Focus Group

CONCLUSION

All self-care practices were divided into three categories based on the following; rank below 0.5=. The formula for calculating the mean score of practiced self-care behavior was adopted from (Sorato et al. 2016). Exploratory factor analysis showed that exercise and self-monitoring were the smallest components of self-care in which participants engaged.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERVENTION MEMORY- EXECUTIVE FUNCTION EXERCISE FOR BREAST

METHOD

The validity test of the MEFE intervention package and its modules was carried out through expert consultation. The form of intervention that has been formulated is then distributed in the structure of the intervention package in the form of meeting sessions. This was chosen to increase the survivors' interest in participating in the intervention package.

The authors of the intervention package did not find the ideal number of cognitive rehabilitation sessions for breast cancer survivors.

FAMILY EMPOWERMENT OF PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION IN PREVENTING STROKE

This is a burden on the healthcare system, but also challenges that need to be faced in developing the healthcare sector in Indonesia. The long-lasting symptoms of a stroke mean that the patient really needs treatment from his family, both in the hospital and after hospitalization. Understanding stroke, causes, clinical symptoms, ways to prevent and treat if stroke symptoms occur in the community.

Find ways to prevent stroke in the form of basic concept knowledge about stroke and participants can check their health by measuring their own blood pressure if symptoms of hypertension occur.

FACTORS AFFECTING LOW BIRTH WEIGHT BABIES IN A HOSPITAL

DISCUSSIONS

It can be said that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, which means that there is a relationship between gestational gap and the incidence of LBW in NICU at the hospital in Banda Aceh. Aruban (2017) reports that there is no relationship between the pregnancy gap and the incidence of LBW in Bangetayu Health Center. The results of this study are supported by research conducted by Wahyuningsih, Trisnowati, & Fitriani (2016) which shows that there is a relationship between exposure to cigarette smoke in the home and the weight of the baby born (p-value=0.007 ).

Another study by Hanum & Wibowo (2016) determined that the longer pregnant women with active smokers in the house, where the average mother is exposed to cigarette smoke > 7 hours per day, the higher the risk of delivering low birth weight babies.

BEING TACTFUL: COMMUNICATION SKILL TRAINING IN MANAGING CHALLENGING SITUATIONS FOR

MATERIALS AND METHODS

The adjusted I-CVI for the scale was 0.971 and the S-CVI/Ave for the scale was 0.971. Cronbach's internal consistency was 0.986 (Yaghmale, 2003). The 14 elements were used as a guideline during the training. The guideline is shown in Table 1. The third section was about the instructional strategies used in the implementation of the communication skills training. Try to practice everything we have learned in the daily routine of the department.” The other participant reported as follows.

The communication skills training approach was used to modify the communication skills behaviors of new graduates in the Pediatric ward.

EFFECTIVENESS OF AUDIO MUROTTAL INTERVENTIONS FOR CHILDREN WITH

Behavioral disorders in children with autistic disorders need intervention to reduce the expressed symptoms and improve the behavior of children with autism (Mayrani & Hartati, 2013). Audiotherapy is one of the effective therapies in improving the development of children with attribution disorders. Emotional levels of children with ASD were measured using the Autism Research Institute's Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC).

At posttest, parents of children with ADHD were again asked to complete the ATEC questionnaire.

FOUR-HANDED METHOD IMPROVES NEONATES’

COMFORT DURING SUCTIONING

Other conditions that make a baby stressed and uncomfortable are invasive and non-invasive actions that cause pain and interrupt the baby's rest, such as performing a mucus suction procedure (Barbosa, Cardoso, Brasil, . & Scochi, 2011). The implementation of the four-hand technique also aims to reduce work stress in nurses. The physical response in the form of changes in heart rate and oxygen saturation is one of the baby's responses to actions such as sucking mucus.

Performing mucus suction using the four-handed method can increase comfort for the child during the procedure.

COGNITIVE FUNCTION, SOSIAL SUPPORT AND A DEPRESSION IN INSTITUTIONALIZED

Friend social support is assistance given in the form of affection, care, attention and assistance to the older adult. According to Stanley & Beare (2006), social support approach is one way to deal with depression in the older adult. This social support was very important because the older adult living in institutionalized older adult is far from their families.

Friendly social support was help in the form of affection, care, attention and assistance to an older person.

COGNITIVE FUNCTION AND FALLS AMONG ELDERLY

RESULTS Sosio Demographic Data

Through the Spearman Rank statistical test, the value of p-value = 0.00 (<0.05) so that H0 is rejected, which means there is a relationship between cognitive function and the level of risk of falling in the elderly in Banda Aceh. Based on the results of statistical tests on the correlation between cognitive function and the level of risk of falling in the elderly in Banda Aceh, it is known that the value of p is 0.00. This p-value<0.05 so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected which means that there is a correlation between cognitive function and the level of risk of falling in the elderly in Banda Aceh.

Based on the results of the study, the conclusions reached are that there is a correlation between cognitive function and the risk level of falls in the elderly in Banda Aceh.

QUALITY OF LIFE IN ELDERLY WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS IN ACEH REGENCY

A decrease in the quality of life of the elderly with rheumatoid arthritis can occur due to the chronic nature of the disease, which affects the treatment and therapy performed (Utami, 2014). Following the development of the WHOQOL-100, the WHOQOL group developed an abbreviated form, the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF). The quality of life in the domain or environmental aspects of RA patients is on average low.

According to Malm, et al (2017), the quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis is good if it is independent in terms of physical function and.

DEVELOPMENT OF CARE DEPENDENCY

MEASUREMENT TOOL FOR INDONESIAN HOME DWELLING OLDER ADULTS: ANALYSIS OF

MATERIAL AND METHODS

In this study of Indonesian older adults' care dependency in community settings, the purpose of the study is to determine care dependency of older adults in the home and to determine the degree of dependency that the elderly depend on others to engage in the actions they initiate, manage and act on their own behalf. Therefore, establishing content validity is the appropriate first step to ensure that the study will collect data on older adults' caregiving dependency. First, review of survey items within the two widely used surveys for older adults' care dependency identified two common dimensions of care dependency: physical dimension and psychosocial dimension.

Two more dimensions were added to the study: spiritual and health care practices, resulting in the 72-item Care Dependence Scale for Indonesian Older Adults (CDS-I).

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

11 Can you raise your arm at the side of your body without difficulty. 12 Can you move your arm to the front of your body without difficulty. 39 Can you share information with friends and family without the help of others.

66 Are you able to talk to your doctor (or other health care providers) yourself?
