The 20 closed questions gauged current and desired paternal involvement. Research question 2 was: "Which aspects of the three subscales of father involvement indicate a desire for more father involvement?" The specific questions associated with each subscale were analyzed to identify the specific aspect of paternal involvement a son desires (see Appendix 6).

CONCLUSIONS
This historical context makes it possible to understand the meaning of Jesus' personal relationship with God the Father. Grudem further explains the importance of the relational component of the trinity: “Father and son are related to each other in the human family: the father directs and has authority over the son, and the son obeys and responds to the father's instructions. .”5 Family terms describing God the Father and God the Son provide a model for how earthly fathers can relate to their emerging adult sons, who, according to this research, desire similar relational connections to their fathers. The importance of the relational dimension of the relationship between father and son is also confirmed by ten other paternal responsibilities that were exercised in the ancient Near East.9 Each responsibility included relational influence.
The implication of the current literature for Cru and the contemporary church is the establishment that a father is prominent in the life of his growing adult son. To understand the specific application to Cru, the mission of the Great Lakes Region Cru is required. Of the MTLs in the Great Lakes, 92 percent responded to the request to ask their male students, which could indicate that MTLs observe a need for equipment related to the father-son relationship, or simply that their responses were influenced by my personal relation to them.
As previously mentioned, the theological basis for the father-son relationship throughout the life course is best described by Bruce Ware: "We can infer from God's fatherhood of his children something of the pattern that should be evident in the parenting manner and substance of human fathers.”29 God the Father is the pattern for paternal involvement. The application of the results of my research will be to determine the value and need to address paternal involvement in Cru ministries in the Great Lakes region.
By combining paternal involvement and its impact on an adult's positive relationships, Cru staff can expand their approach to the development of emerging adult learners. 36 In "The Importance of Self-Regulation for College Student Learning," Cohen's primary focus was to argue that it is important for college students to be able to self-regulate in order to perform well educationally. Another need exists for future researchers to identify whether the father's emotional well-being affects his growing son. Specifically, the question remains about the possibility of a growing son flourishing with an emotionally unhealthy father.

The study you are about to participate in is designed to investigate the relationship between actual and desired father involvement and its relationship to eudaimonic well-being.
