GIRAFFE
Giraffes are long-necked, hoofed mammals with irreguler square-shaped brown spots. It is the tallest living land animal. The giraffe has an average lenght of 5,5 m and a height of 4,5 m. The haviest specimen weighs around 1.200 kg. Giraffe habitats are forest, wild grassland and safana. Giraffes are animals that eat leaves, shoots, tress and bushes. Threats to giraffe include habitat loss, human population growth, poaching and di sease.
Possible Solutions. Conservation efforts to save giraffes have largely focused on habitat protection and anti- poaching campaigns. Efforts are underway to reforest key areas with acacia trees- the giraffe’s favorite tree.
Education and outreach programs are being conducted in all countries where giraffes are still found.
