RESEARCH METHOD

Data Resources

The primary sources of this research are ten voice recording data containing speaking monologues of students of the eleventh grade at Senior High School of Kartikatama Metro. Furthermore, the primary sources of this research are in the form of interview results conducted with the English teacher and the eleventh graders to get results of this research related to the causes of fillers done by students. This research particularly did to know the dominant types of fillers and to analyze the causes of the use of fillers in speaking performance of the eleventh graders at the Senior High School of Kartikatama Metro.

Therefore, the researcher directly addresses the eleventh graders who actively participate in the English subject. One of the basic competences of the English course is that the students actively speak English.

Data Collection Technique

In the process of collecting the data, the researcher collects the result of students' speaking performance to describe the dominant types of fillers performed by students and to analyze the reasons for using fillers in speaking performance for eleventh graders of Senior High School of Kartikatama Metro. After observing the voice recording, the researcher made transcription to get data to analyze. Documentation in this research is in the English-speaking monologue recording of the eleventh graders, which was analyzed by the researcher focusing on fillers.

The researcher obtained the recording of English speaking by asking the teacher about the archive of the monologue recording of the students' English language. In this research process, the researcher conducted interviews with the English teacher and eleventh grade students to obtain research data about the causes of fillers performed by English language students.

Data Analysis Technique

FNI Yes, because it is very important to know the vocabulary that will be spoken. In addition, it is also due to the weakness or lack of practice duration in the process of producing vocabulary. Based on research on the speaking performance in the form of monologue on the eleventh grade students at Senior High School of Kartikatama Metro, it is known that students use fillers in the process of speaking English.

In addition, it is recommended for students to increase their confidence in the process of speaking English so that the occurrence of fillers in the process of speaking English can be minimized. It is recommended for English teachers to motivate students more when speaking English.

THE DATA RESULT AND DISCUSSION

The Profile of Senior High School of Kartikatama Metro

The Senior High School Kartikatama Metro is established on the widespread land ± 17709 m2 and is located in Kapten P. The curriculum used in Senior High School Kartikatama Metro is the 2013 MIPA curriculum and 2013 IPS curriculum. The fish are excellent in the national exam score, are excellent in competition to continue the highest level in education, are excellent in religious activity, are excellent in discipline, English, sports competition.

While the missions are discipline in time, knowledge and faith, developing the young generation in dedication and ethics, developing excellent strength and sports for great commitment to progress, optimizing knowledge, sports and arts, using technology, information and communication, optimizing the use of English as a daily language, optimizing the quality and quantity of students to continue their studies at the university.

The Data Result of Students‟ Fillers

Based on the results of the interview, it was observed by 5 students that the difficulty in word processing can hinder the speaking process due to inhibition in word processing that caused the speaker not to focus on the speaking process and this happens because they think about the meaning and pronunciation of the vocabulary. Based on the results of the interview, it is known that students feel nervous when they speak, 10 interviewed students stated that they tend to stop the speaking process when they feel nervous. The results of the interview showed that 8 students feel nervous in speaking English, they tend to use terms outside the topic of speaking such as using ee and mm, this is because they feel nervous in the process of speaking English.

Based on the results of the interview, it is known that silence is not the main trigger for fluency because only 3 students out of 10 students stated that silence can interfere with their speaking ability. FNI Yes, it's annoying, it's annoying, because you don't know what will be discussed.

Discussion

The cause of fillers in the students' speaking activity is also caused by the English vocabulary that they rarely use, based on the research results it is known that the main cause of the lack of fluency in the process of speaking English is the limited vocabulary that they have so that they find it difficult to express the content of their thoughts to express them in their own words. It is recommended that students be more active in practicing English speaking both at school and at home. Yes it's annoying, it's annoying because if you don't know what's going to be discussed.

It's moderate, sometimes it can focus sometimes it can't, it depends on the friend. Well, based on the reason mentioned above, it is clear that books have a great impact on your life.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Suggestion

Exactly the vocabulary, and tenses, because it is a foreign language, so the obstacle is the tenses and the grammar. Yes, because it requires preparation for the material, for the explanation, if it happens suddenly, it will usually be less preparation. No, it is more to be silent, because if it is silent, the teacher will give a clue as to what to say next.

It's really big because I'm afraid of being wrong if the situation is quiet. 30%, it is not too influenced, if too pressure as the first conclusion it depends on the condition, if the student makes a few noises too much, it can disturb me. I think about it often, but sometimes it's hard to get it out of my mouth.
