Employee well-being creates an environment where people can work at full capacity with support, commitment and positive emotions. In reality, employee well-being shapes employee engagement, reduces “absenteeism” and increases productivity, or is a “trendy” post-pandemic phenomenon. Overall, the results showed that KAZGUU alumni are satisfied with their work and experience employee well-being due to their financial well-being.
Research has shown that employee well-being develops employee brand, increases financial efficiency and improves employer reputation in the labor market.
Introduction
The method section describes the method used for this research and the results section focuses on the results of the survey and interview. At the end of the paper, the relevant conclusions are drawn and the further steps are suggested. The results of this paper are important not only for KAZGUU University and other universities who want to investigate their alumni welfare, but also for the people and companies who have their interest in the employee welfare concept.

As Milton Friedman said: "the social responsibility of business is to maximize profits" (Milton Friedman, 1970). It is becoming increasingly important for people to make a positive contribution to the development of social life. This can be strengthened by practicing the company's values, which could be developed together with the employees via the Code of Conduct.
The company moved hard-to-reach sodas and junk foods into office areas; instead, they have placed water, fruit, salad and vegetables in the popular recreation areas of the office. Summarizing the results of the experiment, approximately 2,300 Google employees began choosing a salad for breakfast (HBR, 2016). A recent Deloitte report (2021) - Wellbeing at the heart of the employee experience introduces six elements of well-being.
The well-being and experience of employees and the company's reputation, company's financial results and customer experience are directly related. It is an organization that accepts its responsibility to be a good citizen (both inside and outside the organization), who serves as a role model to its peers and encourages a high level of participation at all levels of the organization.” The definition explains the need for well-being in terms of a profitable, transparent relationship between the workforce, stakeholders and others. However, a recent report (2021) by Deloitte showed that being a social enterprise is not enough, we have forgotten about employee expectations and workforce trends.
Employees behave in the same way: they look for the benefits and attractiveness of the potential employer and if they meet the requirements of low talent, he/she will change the workplace.
Methodology
The data may be invalid if the respondent was not from the target audience (this survey is only focused on KAZGUU alumni). The survey questions were started in such a way that it is easiest to attract the attention of the respondents and familiarize them with the logic of the survey. In addition, it is useful to test the survey in a small group before sending it to a selected population.
The researcher will be confident that the data collected will contribute significantly to the results of the research. These people were volunteers who responded to an announcement that was posted along with a link to a survey that stated the topic and purpose of the survey.
Data
Results
48 respondents always feel full of energy at work and 56 respondents are enthusiastic about their work. Also, 60.8% of the respondents answered that they have enough time to do their work in the designated hours. 66.7% of respondents say they can communicate with their supervisor about issues such as mental health and can provide advice if they need it.
The results show that almost 83% of employees can cope with burnout in the workplace because they are stress-resistant (Lubbadeh, 2020). Furthermore, they are not exposed to psychological problems such as anxiety, behavioral, emotional disorders, depression and eating disorders (Better Health Channel). Physically, alumni improve their condition by themselves, because the majority of respondents wrote that they do not have wellness programs.
They try to do sport at least 2 times a week, by answering: sport helps to maintain stress resistance, helps to manage thoughts and calms their "brain activity". Most alumni do not have facilities like Cisco, Zappos and Google have like sleeping capsules, healthy eating habits (HBR. 2016). Alumni do not wait for such initiatives from employers, because according to Deloitte Report (2021) Well-being at the heart of the employee experience, Figure 6, physical activities are located where "individual" is high and at "low" organizational level.
There is a clear correlation between openness and support at the organization because the same number of respondents answered that their workplace supports their mental health. It may be that managers are wellness initiators, not the company itself, because the percentage ratio between organizations and prospective managers is the same. 1 In the past three months, have you ever worked in your main job, even if you did not feel well enough to carry out your duties.
In addition, one respondent wrote that their company buys a subscription to ifeel, a platform where you can find your therapist who will work with you. Anuar, N., Tanat do not have HR in the company, their colleagues have this additional role in their main job.
Discussions and Limitations
Informal meetings where employers share their findings or if they want to raise a topic for discussion. The survey showed that the state of well-being of graduates is good and is not related to well-being initiatives in the company. The financial status of KAZGUU graduates is the same and higher compared to the average salary of Kazakhstan (250,000 KZT (KAZINFORM, 2022)).
Moreover, the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Government of RK, 2022) does not oblige organizations to develop welfare strategies. However, research showed that employer and employee work together in the relationship 'work is work' (Deloitte conducted research in 2019 and showed a direct relationship between financial well-being and employee well-being. This is the main reason why KAZGUU alumni are satisfied with their current job and employees have well-being.
Since employee well-being is a continuous process, the Kaizen approach can be used by the organization to implement the initiative. Kaizen is a process of continuous improvement which aims to eliminate waste, imbalance and overload (Suzuki, 2016). The change will consist of five phases: Recognition and start → Diagnosis → Plan → Implement and review → Maintain change.
Furthermore, employee well-being can be measured as return on investment (ROI), but called well-being return on investment (WROI) (Deloitte Insights, 2019). The results of much broader research will be more beneficial for brands and for the analysis of alumni state. If the personal data of alumni were not outdated, it may be that the results of the research will be more precise, and the sample size will be 223 alumni.
