Back to the forest: Over 80 students from eight schools in Malaysia and a school each from Indonesia and India recently participated in the Sri Aman Environmental Youth Leadership Summit 2013. The programme, organised by SMK (P) Sri Aman, saw students learning about sustainable forestry management from the Malaysian Timber Council. The council has been a supporter of the programme since the summit's inception in 2012 and is one of the main sponsors this year. Besides seminars and talks, the students were given a nature study tour at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). The most memorable part of the trip was a 500metre hike to the Canopy Walkway which offered participants a bird's eye view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, as observed from the 150
metre long bridge suspended approximately 30 metres above the ground.
