Mixingprocess atau proses pencampuran adalah peristiwa menyebarnya bahan-bahan secara acak, dimana bahan yang satu menyebar ke dalam bahan yang lain demikian pula sebaliknya, sedang bahan-bahan itu sebelumnya terpisah dalam keadaan dua fase atau lebih yang akhirnya membentuk hasil yang lebih seragam (homogen). Pada proses pencampuran diperlukan gaya mekanik untuk menggerakkan bahan-bahan sehingga didapat hasil yang homogen. Gaya mekanik diperoleh sebagai akibat adanya aliran bahan ataupun dihasilkan oleh alat pencampur. Beberapa peralatan yang biasa digunakan untuk mencampur zat cair dapat juga digunakan untuk mencampur zat padat atau pasta, dan demikian juga sebaliknya. 
Angkak (red koji atau red fermented rice) merupakan hasil fermentasi beras dengan kapang Monascus purpureus yang mengandung antioksidan. Antioksidan berfungsi untuk mencegah penyakit kanker, penyakit jantung dan penyakit degeneratif lainnya yang menjadi penyebab besarnya angka kematian di Indonesia berdasarkan data yang dirilis WHO pada tahun 2002. Tepung angkak diperoleh dan disuplementasikan ke dalam roti kukus sehingga dihasilkan roti kukus yang memiliki nilai fungsional. Untuk mendapatkan roti kukus dengan kualitas fisik dan kandungan antioksidan yang baik diperlukan lama waktu mixing, kecepatan mixing, dan konsentrasi angkak yang tepat. Untuk itu pada penelitian ini, konsentrasi angkak yang disuplementasikan ke dalam roti kukus digunakan tiga variasi konsentrasi (per satu kilogram tepung) yakni 0%, 0,25%, 0,5%. Kecepatan mixing dilakukan dengan dua variasi yaitu kecepatan rendah (level 1) dan kecepatan sedang (level 2*). Lama waktu mixing yang digunakan empat macam variasi yakni 2.2*; 2,3*; 3,2*; 3,3*. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan yang terkandung dalam roti kukus dilakukan dengan metode DPPH. Pengujian fisik dilakukan dengan menggunakan texture analyzer untuk mengukur tekstur pada roti kukus, metode seed displacement untuk mengukur volume roti kukus, analisa warna menggunakan metode L*a*b*. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan suplementasi angkak akan meningkatkan aktivitas antioksidan, volume pengembangan, nilai a*, diiringi penurunan nilai hardness, nilai L* dan nilai b*. Semakin lama mixing time maka akan meningkatkan volume pengembangan.
Foamed asphalt is a road pavement material which is normally produced using cold mix system. During production process, the bitumen is changed to the form of foam before it is mixed with the wet and unheated aggregates. The mixing result is a unique asphalt mixture in which its performance is unlikely the conventional hot mix asphalt. This paper reports the results of laboratory trial works of foamed asphalt production, starting with machine settings , foamed bitumen production , mixing and compaction process , until the specimen observation . Materials used in this study are crushed limestone aggregates and three different penetration bitumen grade. The foamed bitumen was generated using a laboratory foaming plant i.e. Wirtgen WLB 10, whereas the materials were mixed using a 20 quarts Hobart mixer and compacted using a gyratory compactor. This paper describes all of production stages included setting up the foaming plant, setting the rate of bitumen spraying, foam product-ion, mixingprocess, compaction, and characterizing the specimens using X-Ray scanner. It can be deduced that setting of the water and air pressure, bitumen temperature, and foaming water content are the most important aspects of foamed asphalt production in order to generate the best results. It was understood that the type of mixer agitator, mixing time and speed were major aspects affecting quality of the mixture during mixingprocess, whereas the compaction setting either density setting or number of gyratory setting may be considered properly in order to achieve the best characteristic. Furthermore, the X-Ray scanning result give an important knowledge to differ the visual mechanical structure between foamed asphalt and hot mix asphalt.
Considering the real application, Prastaya  reported at the red spinach cultivation in hydroponic farm of Joy Farm in Indonesia, there is an occurrence that within an hour EC value of nutrient solution drop by 0.1 mS/cm. Based on Figure 9, the control system can manage to control the difference of 0.1 mS/cm by 130 second. From this situation, it is safe to change only the fuzzy memberships which result in longer settling time but stable mixingprocess and precise fuzzy decision. New fuzzy membership for pump activation time can be set by calculates the fuzzy membership times 25. Though so, a faster settling time and less noise setting is still possible to set if certain model of nutrient solution mixingprocess is known.

The injectability test was done using extrusion test following method outlined by Driessens . or Vlad . [13,14], by extruding non-needle 5 ml polyethylene syringes filled with the mixture of dried powder and distilled water of 3:2 and 1:1 mass ratios for the first group or the as paste for the second. The extrusion was done using a Lloyd universal testing machine, LR 10 K model, at a crosshead speed of 50 mm/min and a maximum load of 300 N. The evolution of the extrusion force was recorded against the extruding time for different mixing or waiting times. For the first group, a predetermined weight of water as the above ratio was poured to predetermined weight of powder then they were being mixed using the pestle in the mortar with mixing times of 5 to 30 min, after every 5 min interval the mixture was then injected. For the second group, the 20% CaO excess paste, as aforementioned weight, was brought to extrusion after different waiting times. The mixingprocess of the first group was necessary to make water and powder a homogenous mixture while the second group was as a homogenous mixture after synthesis so no mixing anymore was necessary.
As discussed previously, it is clear that following the mixingprocess, the loose FAM consists of two particle types, i.e. aggregate and combined bitumen- fines particles. About 15% of the aggregate mass was found to be coated by binder. The maximum coated particle size is 6.3mm and the maximum binder-fines particle size is found to be 14mm. In this circumstance, the number (and size) of binder-fines particles becomes crucial since it influences binder distribution. A greater number of binder-fines particles or smaller sized binder-fines particles results in better binder distribution, which stimulates the compaction process and hence potentially enhances the mixture properties. Thus, the mechanism of binder distribution needs to be well understood. Basically, foam is created immediately following injection of pressurised air and water into the hot bitumen phase in the expansion chamber. The number of foam bubbles may grow rapidly under high pressure. When foam is sprayed out into a steel cylinder, the growth in bubble size can be seen clearly due to the internal pressure being higher than the surrounding pressure.

Pemanfaatan asbuton masih terbatas pada bentuk butiran. Kandungan dalam asbuton butir masih berupa aspal dan campuran mineral lain. Cara untuk mengetahui kandungan aspal dalam asbuton butir adalah ekstraksi dengan metode emulsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan waktu mixing fase padat terhadap kadar aspal emulsi, hubungan waktu mixing fase padat terhadap kadar air dan mengetahui karakteristik asbuton emulsi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membuat asbuton emulsi lalu diekstraksi hingga asbuton emulsi halus terpisah dengan yang kasar. Fase padat terdiri dari asbuton butir, bensin lalu dicampur menggunakan mixer modifikasi dengan variasi waktu 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 menit. Fase cair terdiri dari texapon, air aquades dan asam klorida. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian kelarutan, kadar air, dan karakteristik asbuton emulsi. Hasil analisis dari uji kelarutan, dengan waktu mixing fase padat 3 menit, didapat kadar asbuton emulsi sebesar 96,67 %. Dari analisis hasil uji kadar air didapat hubungan antara waktu mixing fase padat dengan kadar air yaitu semakin lama waktu mixing fase padat maka kadar air akan semakin meningkat. Dari hasil uji karakteristik asbuton emulsi didapat nilai penetrasi berkisar 3,2 dmm, titik lembek 90,5 o C,berat jenis 1,403 gr/cc, titik nyala, dan bakar 335 o C dan 348 o C, uji kelekatan 99,5% dan kelarutan 70,5%.
Salah satu kendala dalam proses daur ulang kertas yang sangat berpengaruh adalah tingkat kecepatan putaran pada campuran kertas dan air menjadi bubur kertas (pulp) yang akan dicetak menjadi kertas. Bila bubur kertas (pulp) memiliki tingkat pencampuran kertas dan air yang rendah, maka kertas yang dihasilkan pada proses daur ulang kertas ini tidak dapat dipergunakan sehingga menyebabkan kualitas hasil produksi yang kurang optimal. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu alat pengendali kecepatan mixing pada plant daur ulang kertas berbasis microcontroller ATMEL – ATmega 8535 untuk menjaga mixing kertas dan air agar menjadi bubur kertas (pulp) dan memiliki tingkat pengadukan yang halus sehingga menghasilkan kertas yang dapat dipergunakan kembali (Anthony, 2014).
One of the difficulties faced in the current technology for biodiesel production is the requirement for rigorous mixing of methanol with the feedstock oil in the reactor. Utilization of blade mixer has limitation due to the immiscible state of those substances. This research is devoted to the assessment of static-mixer utilization in a transesterification reactor for biodiesel production in terms of kinetics reaction (reaction rate coefficient k, activation energy Ea, and collision factor or coefficient factor A). The experiments were conducted by reacting palm oil (triglyceride or TG) with methanol (MeOH) at 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 o C, using potassium hydroxide (KOH) as catalyst. Molar ratio of TG and MeOH was 1 : 10.5 and KOH used was 1% of palm oil weight. Transesterification process using blade agitator with the same reaction condition was performed as base of comparison to those of static-mixer. The experiments showed that static-mixer has significant effect in reducing reaction time to reach required fatty acid methyl ester content (FAME) i.e. 96.5% than those of blade agitator. Transesterification reaction time with static- mixer were shorter than with blade agitator for all temperature levels. Reaction temperature of 65 o C with 5 minutes of reaction time demonstrated the best condition for running the static- mixer reactor.
