MAPPING OF PROFESSIONAL, PEDAGOGICAL, SOCIAL, AND PERSONAL COMPETENCE OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICS TEACHERS IN YOGYAKARTA SPECIAL REGION.

This study was a survey. The research object was professional, pedagogical, social, and personal competence. The population was senior high school physics teachers in Sleman, Bantul and Kulon Progo. Based on the data of UKG 2/2012 population size was 121 people. Sample size was determined based on the Harry King's nomogram obtained the results as many as 85 people, with details of Sleman 32, Bantul 30, and Kulon Progo 23 people. The research instrument was developed based on the Regulation of the National Education Minister of Indonesia Republic No.16 of 2007 on the Competence Standards and Academic Qualification of teacher, includes instruments to measure professional, pedagogical, social and personal competence. Validation the contents of the instrument was done by experts, and the instrument was stated valid. Reliability of the instrument was determined by correlating the competence of teachers which was assessed by principals and peers, and the instrument was stated reliable. Data analysis was performed by the classification based on the ideal mean score and standard deviation, as well as non-parametric analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman test.

EFFECTIVENESS OF REASONED OBJECTIVE CHOICE TEST TO MEASURE HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS IN PHYSICS IMPLEMENTING OF CURRICULUM 2013.

Based on Table1, reasoned choice objective test with scoring model of politomous four categories according to the PCM can be effectively implemented in senior high school. First, reasoned choice objective test is practical in using an scoring supported by 80 % of senior high school physics teachers. Second, the test is efficien tbecause it can be used on a large number of students with a relatively low cost. In addition,the correction time of response of the reasoned objective test is relatively short. That is supported by 82.5‗ % of senior high school physics teachers. Third, results of students‘ the exam assessment based on the stages can be completed students. Although only just completed the initial phase, participants had test scores. The highest value of course obtained when the examinee has completed all phases of the examin that clause. This is consistent with the statement Widhiarsa (2010: 6) that solve a problemonly to the first stage is analogous to thecategory of 'never', while when it comes to the final stage, analogous to the category of 'always on'. Thus, the objective reasoned choice physics test can measure higher order thinking skills effectively.

This research is aimed to produce a valid and practical interactive multimedia physics learning simulation model of gas kinetic theory, which could increase student’ learning outcomes. This is a development research using Rowntree model. Rowntree model consists of three phases, namely: 1) planning, 2) developing, and 3) evaluating. In evaluating phase, Tessmer formative evaluation was used that consists of self evaluation, expert review, one- to-one, small group test, and field test. In collecting data, validation sheet, questionnaire, and achievement test were used. In expert review phase, prototype of multimedia for interactive physics learning was considered valid with the result of 89,82%. In one-to-one phase, prototype 1 was assessed by the students in their point of view. In small group phase, prototype 2 was considered very practical with the questionnaire results of 86.50%. In field test phase, multimedia for interactive physics learning was considered very practical with the questionnaire result of 79.71%. Field test phase was done to the students in grade XI Science 2 of SMA N 1 Inderalaya Utara, and the students’ learning outcomes in this phase was categorized medium with N-gain of 0.5. The results of the research show that the developed interactive multimedia physics learning simulation model of gas kinetic theory for senior high school students grade XI was valid and very practical that could increase the students’ learning outcomes.

Participants (students as teacher candidates) completed courses of micro teaching and teaching experience program. They were guided by the lecturer to develop teaching aids based on Curriculum of 2013 for senior high school in the subject of Physics. Teaching aids were developed through Four D’s model adopted from Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974:5) that consists of define, design, develop and disseminate phases. All products were validated by experts and implemented in the classroom. Experts were requested to respond and evaluate the teaching aids. Then, students’ achievements in physics which are taught by the teacher candidate measured, especially for scientific abilities based on scientific approach in the Curriculum of 2013. Data were gathered through interview, observation, questioner, and test (performance assessment, paper and pencil test).

Currently, technological advances can help improve Physical practice in the School. One of them by using video based laboratory (VBL). VBL is a practical activity in the laboratory in the form of video-based educational software. Technical Guidance for Making Video-Based Laboratory Application Tracker for Physics Teacher in Teachers' Consultation in Subject (MGMP) of High School Physics (SMA) in Padang and Padang Panjang City ", This activity was held for 2 months with the activity stage is preparation, implementation and activity evaluation. Based on the planning, the activities have been successfully done well. Implementation of this activity by the way the teacher is guided using the application Tracker on Physics practicum activities. The output of this activity is the Digital Video Labaratory for teaching material with Tracker application for physics practicum activity, especially Regular Straight Motion (GLB), Straight Changed Motion (GLBB), Momentum and Impulse.

In order to help the students obtain the competence to create and interpret contextual spoken and written recounts, proper instructional materials are needed. Unfortunately, many teachers still have inadequate knowledge of KTSP. Consequently, many of them will not be able to plan proper instructional materials.

AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT : UNDERSTANDING LEVELS AND CONSTRAINTS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TEACHER IN THE CITY OF LHOKSEUMAWE ACEH PROVINCE.

The results of research related to the data level of understanding of elementary school teachers , junior high school , and vocational school in the city of Lhokseumawe on authentic assessment has been obtained , and are summarized in Figure 1. According to Figure 1 shows that the level of teachers' understanding of authentic assessment is still relatively low, especially teachers of vocational school and elementary school . The relatively high level of understanding of the assessment are high school teachers , with a percentage of 52.50 % . These results were obtained based on their responses on the questionnaire, either on direct questions and indirect questions. Direct question is perceptional, whereas indirect questions are test -level of understanding.

Humanistic Values in English Electronic School Textbook for Senior High School.

The English electronic school textbooks or known as BSE ( Buku Sekolah Elektronik ) for senior high school are used by students in Indonesia since this kind of book is downloadable free in the internet. Due to that reason, this study intends to evaluate the language use in the book by means of appraisal analysis. The focus of attention will be on the representation of humanistic values in the book. The values are necessarily to promote due to the fact that textbooks become one of resources for students to build their characters as language enables humans to express their conscious awareness of emotions (Dong, 2006). Consequently, what the book presents influences the stud ents‘ attitudes towards certain issues. This research attempts to find out what humanistic values are promoted in the book and how the writers‘ attitudes are represented to show the humanistic values.The analysis shows that the book presents three values: respecting others, nature and social issues. The writers‘ attitudes towards the values are dominated by affect: 87% in respecting other people and 73% in respecting social issues. To respect nature, the writers‘ attitudes are shown in appreciation, present ed in 71%.

Based on the interview with some students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak, the researcher found out some causes of the problems dealing with writing skill. The first reason is the limited time allotment for writing. Teachers spent little or no time teaching students to write. They expected their students to plan and compose their assignments outside class. It means the students have a little practice in writing at school. Another reason is that the teacher uses monotonous technique or media in teaching writing. It makes students bored and unmotivated to learn. In many schools in Indonesia, the teachers still use traditional media in teaching writing such as pieces of papers; although there are various media that can be used by the teachers to help the students in organizing ideas, motivating the students, and lessen their boredom in writing.

Firstly, the site has been piloting 2013 English curriculum in Bandar Lampung. In reference to Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 160/2014, the school has been appointed to proceed with the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum. Therefore, it serves the context in which the present study is administered. Secondly, the reason this school was chosen as the site of the research is due to its location which is reachable so that it supports the practicality and feasibility of the research. At last, on the basis of mutual trust that has been established since the researcher had been an alumna and teacher’s assistant in the site, it was assumed that the researcher can get access to the participants. The necessity of getting access is considered important point since it could support the researcher to get the expected data required in this study (Heigham & Croker, 2009).
