Utilizationof vegetable farming informations is one of important matter for the farmers in practicing a variety ofinformation relating to farming of vegetables obtained from different types ofinformation sources, including land-use pratices, regular irrigation, seed selection, fertilization, pest eradication and crop diseases, post-harvest processing , marketing and other information relevant to vegetable farming. This study objectives were (1) To analyze the utilizationofinformation by the vegetable farmers, (2) To analyze relationship characteristics of vegetable farmers to the level of exposure to sources ofinformation, (3) To analyze relationship of perception of farmers to agricultural services with the level of exposure to sources ofinformation; and (4) to analyze relationship between the level of exposure to sources ofinformation to the level ofutilizationofinformation. The number of samples was 50 vegetable farmers. The important results showed (1) The utilization rate of farm information in most vegetable growers (54 percent) were categorized as being the average of one to two information practices, (2) There is significant correlation between characteristic of vegetable farmers to levels of exposure sources information those are age, education, income, experience of vegetable farming, the number of dependents and the perception of farmers towards agriculture (affective dimension) by the number ofinformation sources, (3) There is significant correlation between the vegetable farmer perceptions of agricultural services to the levels of exposure to multiple sources information that is the perception of farmers to extension agents, farmers, merchants and traders of agricultural production, (4) There is significant correlation between the rate exposure to sources ofinformation that is the number of sources ofinformation and variety ofinformation obtained from various sources ofinformation to the level ofutilizationof informations.

Abstract — Information technology has the power to develop industries and transform how business is run. A variety of leading companies have taken advantage ofinformation technology in conducting a rethinking of business strategy. According to Law Number 11 Year 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions that use information technology plays an important role in trade and national economic growth for the public welfare. Then the definition ofinformation technology is a technique for collecting, preparing, storing, processing, announcing, analyze, and disseminate information. In this study uses a qualitative approach to research methodology and supported by quantitative data and analysis techniques are deskritif. The results of this study indicate that the postal business carried out by PT. Pos Indonesia and courier service companies, those companies have made use ofinformation technology in the development of the postal business, such as PT. Pos Indonesia has been using online services to send money to a matter of minutes and trace and tracking services. Furthermore courier service company has mengembangankan online by using the SMS service to check the mail trip. The main obstacle in the utilizationofinformation technology is a huge cost to make an online network and device procurement. From users of postal services, postal services people already use information technology-based.

The objective of product development is to translate an idea into a tangible physical asset. The process is structured around well-de®ned phases; each phase ends with a decision-making meeting where management decides about the future of the project. A typical product develop- ment project starts with a planning phase to establish the requirements of the project. During this phase, the organization de®nes the target market and the characteristics of the product. These characteristics include functionality, price, performance, and expected release time. The out- come of the initial phase is a broad description of these characteristics. The second phase Ð concept design Ð goes into more detail to specify the pro- duct speci®cations and the requirements of the development project: target costs, technological performance, customer interfaces, market release dates, and organizational resources. The third phase Ð product design Ð is the actual develop- ment of the physical product. It is in this phase when trade-os get resolved and information is transformed into a tangible product. The last two phases Ð testing and production start up Ð con- ®rm that the product meets its objectives and pre- pare it for release. The process, even though described as linear, is an iterative process: product speci®cations or even the product concept can be re-evaluated in light of new information generated throughout the process.
