Literature is generally accepted as a written realization of language. It is preserved and passed on through writing, and personal encounter with it is most often through reading what has been written. Literature is a vital record of what men have seen in life, what they have experienced of it, what they have thought and felt about those aspects of it. Fundamentally an expression of life through the medium of language, literature accordingly needs to be systematically studied. Taylor (1981:1) says, “Literature like other arts, is essentially an imaginative act, that is, an act of the writer’s imagination in selecting, ordering, and interpreting life experience.” Based on the statements, it means that literature is a kind of art that usually tells, dramatizes, analyzes, expresses the emotions, and advocates the ideas where the imagination of the author ordering the experience of life into written or oral composition by offers the pleasure. Robert (1987:1) says, “Literature refers to compositions that tell the stories, dramatize situations, expresses emotions, and analyze and advocate ideas.” It shows that literature as reflection of life. Literature, like the other arts, can give us new ways of looking at the world and finding significancewhich the daily use of language in its more commonplace way has concealed.

Lesbianism can be caused by both mental and physical reasons. Many a times a person develops lesbian traits at the early childhood itself. Certain physical conditions back lesbian mentality. Lesbianism is no more concerned a mental disorder but it is proved that lesbianism is more a mental orientation than a physical disorientation. Psychology says that a great number of lesbians have developed homosexual desires as a regression to the earlier stages of development. If a girl experiences the company of other girl or girl more than that with a boy, she may possibly become a lesbian. On the other hand, if a girl, by whatever reasons, happened to hate a boy or boys, she may become a lesbian. In fact, lesbianism can be derived from uncommon attachment to a girl or from hatred to boys. The physical reasons include sexual disabilities of different kinds. In general, the development of homosexuality did not last too long and become sedentary pattern, then this event has led to abnormalities. At such events, also on a more serious incident, should one ask for medical advice and spiritual guidance in a psychiatrist or psychologist. So lesbian is healthy mentally / psychologically, they just have a different sexual orientation. But of course the psychological health of lesbians is strongly influenced by social life. The term lesbian was influenced by the pressure in the recognition or acceptance of her identity. Pressure can come from themselves, their families, communities, workplaces and society. That's why many lesbians who feel pressured psychologically because of their sexual orientation. There are feeling of shyness, insecure, feeling guilty, feeling insignificant, feel different, and others.

Alex and Rosie have been best friends for almost as long as they can remember. After depicting their time together as children, the novel jumps to Rosie making a speech at what appears to be a wedding, while staring at Alex, implying it may be his wedding but not hers. Rosie is upset because of getting drunk during her 18th birthday. Alex comes over to discuss the previous night's events but pauses when Rosie tells him how she wished it never happened. The pair later go to the beach together to attend a party where 'the fittest guy in [their]grade' asks Rosie to the school dance, which she rejects saying she is going with Alex. Alex later tells her that an attractive and 'out of his league' girl named Bethany wants to go with him. After a fight between the two, Alex and Bethany go to the dance along with Greg and Rosie. After some dancing, Bethany and Alex share a passionate kiss and Greg and Rosie get a private room. The two then have sex but due to Greg's inexperience, the condom comes off and gets stuck inside Rosie. She immediately calls Alex who gets her to a hospital then takes her home.

In the Norwegian myth, however, it is the pride of the gods or their opponents, the frost giants, which causes disasters to occur. Unlike the Greeks and the Celts, the German peoples of the northern Europe did not develop a heroic tradition of any significance. The great hero was Thor, the slow-witted but honest champion of the gods. He delighted the tough Northmen, who appreciated how his allergy to frost giants naturally led to skull-smashing encounters in the fields and halls. Yet those who undertook raids as Vikings had a more suitable patron in Odin, the one-eyed god of battle and the inspirer of the dreaded berserkers.
