by a Justice of the Peace for the said province, to enter into and upon any house, land, garden, or other place in or upon the said Island, or any ship, boat, or vessel in or near any of the harbors thereof, to search and inquire if there be any bees other than pure Ligurian or Italian bees, and if any such be found forthwith to seize, take, carry away, and destroy the same, and any hive, box, or other receptacle in which the same shall be.

The Ligurian Bee Act.-1885.

Every offender against any provision of this Act shall forfeit and pay a penalty of not more than Ten Pounds for a first offence, nor more than Fifty Pounds for every subsequent offence; and every fine, forfeiture, or penalty, incurred under this Act may be imposed, recovered, enforced and awarded bv one or more Justices of the Peace for the said province in rnanngr providcd by Ordinancc No. 6 of 1850.

Therc shall be an appeal from any conviction for any offence against this Act, or from any order dismissing any information or complaint, or from any order for payment of costs or other- wise, which appeal shall be to the Local Court of Adelaide of Full Jurisdiction only, and the proceedings on such appeal shall be con- ducted in manner appointed by the said Ordinance No. 6 of 1850, for appeals to Local Courts ; but the Local Court of Adelaide afore- said, may make such ordcr as to payment of the costs of appeal as it shall think fit, although such costs may exceed Ten Pounds.

The Local Court of Adelaide, upon the hearing of any appeal, may state one or more special case or cases for the opinion of the Supreme Co~zrt, and the Supreme Court shall hear and decide such special case or cases according to the practice of the Supreme Court on special cases, and the Supremc Court shall make order as to costs of any special caae as to the said Court shall appear just.

This Act may he termed and ca,lled The Ligu~ian Bee Act."
