Bellevue Gold – Licence Renewal Request for Information

Thankyou for your letter dated 28 th October 2021. I have attached a copy of the formal approval for Amber Stanton (BGL Company Secretary) to sign the application. I have also attached a copy of the latest ASIC company extract.

For the third point, a copy of the proposed water balance from 2020 has been included, along with the actual water discharge data for the period and the water balance for the 2022 year. The figure of

59,000KL is a typing error and there remains 89,000kl capacity within the pits. The planned water balance matches closely with the actual data, and Bellevue has demonstrated that over the discharge period, water can be managed in a sustainable manner.

For this licence renewal Bellevue plans to discharge water to the Henderson, Westralia and Vanguard Pits. There is a plan at some stage in 2022 (subject to EPA referral determination) to dewater the Vanguard pit, and to store water within a newly created pond. These plans do not form part of the current licence application, and were included for information only, rather than being requested for approval.

The licence being applied for at this stage will be the same as the current licence, with the annual dewatering volume the same, as well as the proposed dewatering RL. The new licence will enable Bellevue to undertake maintenance dewatering only, while the Project is undergoing EPA assessment (assuming a level of assessment is set).

Should the Project require further dewatering infrastructure, such as the pond, this will be applied for when required. But for the purpose of this licence renewal, there are no changes planned to the current approved dewatering system. The annual dewatering volume will remain the same and the depth to dewater will also remain the same.

The capacity of each pit for storage is included within the water balance. The proposed vs actual dewatering has shown that the ongoing dewatering for maintenance can be done in a manner that is sustainable, given the high rates of evaporation in the area. The Project is also actively managing dust across the roads and waste dumps which is being undertaken as per the past approval. For clarity and as shown in the water balance table attached, dewatering the approved volume requirements over the period can safely be stored within the current available capacity of the pits.

In the diagram on Page 3, the turkey’s nest is included as a discharge point, because it forms part of the

dewatering pipeline infrastructure. No water from the underground is sent to this turkey’s nest, and this

(2)

is currently fed from an adjacent bore that it utilised as required. The capacity of the turkey’s nest is around 20Kl and does not form part of the greater dewatering infrastructure.
