Buckingham Newsletter May 2016
An apology and correction to April’s Newsletter.
In Alan Farr’s final report of Barefoot Bowls, where he thanked all those who make BFB the success that it is, I made an error.
Instead of thanking Graham Smith for “setting up rinks, making bowls available, assisting the cooks, and packing up everything afterwards”, I thanked another bowler.
My apology Graham, Alan said-“My right hand Man and unsung Hero”.
Winter Bowls has started
Winter bowls have started and already in April the club ahs made a profit of
$1208.18(where did the 18c come from?), a good start. An average of 28 players each day, 72% are Bucks players, of those about 50% are women!
Anzac Day
The Anzac Day Mixed fours were very successful. We had the maximum number of teams entered. The day started with a short and very reflective service followed by two games of bowls. Winners were Geoff Woolley, Alison Chamberlain, Paul Eaton and Grant Chamberlain.
Once again on this day, our thanks to Jackman’s Garage who always sponsor this very important Remembrance Day.- Lest We Forget.
Arthur Stagg ANZAC day winners:- AlisonChamberlain, Grant Chamberlain, Geoff Woolley and Paul Eaton,.
