This report was edited and compiled on behalf of the US Study Travel Group. The success of the pilot program has led to the expansion of the project throughout the rest of the state at six-month intervals with the launch of the project in the Central Agricultural Region in July 1997. It was also with a clear view to secure the future of rural western Austraha and that the advantages of bush life were preserved and expanded since the Central Agricultural Region study tour group embarked on a fact-finding tour of the United States.].
The research themes and main findings that emerged from the study trip can be divided into three main categories. Building leadership capacity within a community is one of the most important components of long-term sustainable community development. The heart of the rural community is the school, which values its vital role in building a sense of community for young people and adults.
34;Heartland Center Research has shown time and time again how important community attitudes are in determining survival. It is not essential that a particular attraction or business be open every day of the year. Successful communities are communities that value the input of every sector of the community, from youth to youth.
Local businesses in rural areas of the US were more community oriented than businesses in Australia.

INNOVATION IN AGRICULTURE
A rapidly growing industry in the Midwestern United States relevant to the central agricultural region was dude ranching. Dude ranching, or entertainment farming, refers to a type of fann or station stay where visitors pay to stay on the property and be actively involved in the daily activities of the property. Assistance is provided to design plant, equipment and process flow techniques necessary to deliver a quality product to the consumer.
Technology assistance is provided to the private sector in the grain, vegetable, meat, dairy and specialty food categories. The location of the factory and the procurement of raw materials are offered to companies that want to establish or expand operations in the state. That the concept of added value is promoted and encouraged among primary producers and entrepreneurship is promoted through the Doing More With Agriculture project.
The Avon Arc project incorporates this and is a great concept that should be expanded across the state. That the quality of life in rural Western Australia is promoted to encourage young people to stay in or move to rural towns.

Over twenty years, these shareholders are paid a dividend that is proportional to the amount of power they use during that time (ie, the more power an individual uses, the higher the dividend and vice versa). Operation Rounding - A person's electricity bill is rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the difference between the actual amount on the bill and the rounded number is donated to charity, preferably within the region. Rural Electrification Cooperative aims to truly care for its customers, do everything for the benefit of the people and have a high level of customer service.

The group visited the American Indian Center in Albuquerque, where Robert Johnson, a Native American Indian from the New Mexico Economic Development Department, spoke on the issue of economic development among American Indians in New Mexico. The Pecory tribe owns 51% of the Hotel de Santa Fe along with the owners of the land on which the hotel is built.
Rathion backed out of the role after training the tribe to manage the entire project. There is a 9 year chance to gamble, apparently based on the life of the legislation that allows gambling. This puts a strain on every member of the household who earns an income.
Key issues
Promotion of scenic/historic out-of-the-way routes to direct tourist activity to areas that need it, e.g. His vision was to tell people through the museum that Black Americans played an important role in the development of the Midwest. An aspect of this museum is that it can be used to help young black people identify that their ancestors were instrumental in the development of the Midwest.
Due to the 5% of business profits tax imposed by the Deadwood community, the town has been somewhat renovated/revitalized. The town's tourism industry is thriving, but its casinos have had few spillover effects through the rest of the community's economy. As a result, many of the jobs created by the casinos are not long-term 'career' jobs - such as bar hands, waitresses, bellhops, poker machine repairmen and service station attendants.
The casinos are not locally owned, so much of the profits flow directly out of the local economy. The store was purchased by the Hustead family in 1931 in the middle of the Depression. The idea of using highway signs to advertise free iced water and the store has expanded so that there are now over 3,000 highway signs in the SO states of the United States and around the world.
The Visitor's Center was created as a result of a process involving the Wall Drug Store. The water supply had recently been improved and expanded to cover most of the communities in the reservoir. The project includes granite carvings of four US presidents; Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt.
A community cultural center for Indians has been developed at the site and there are also plans for an Indian university as part of the overall complex. Haysprings people were caring and took great interest in their childhood, especially in developing technology in their school with the linkage of the Internet.
Although it was a wonderful place of entertainment, it had unfortunately caused the closure of the hotel in Brewster. After dinner and networking with community members, a general discussion was held on various aspects of the Community Builders program.
Key Issues
Ken Wortman campaigned for housing in the town for three years because he saw that more housing would result in housing for more laborers. They researched other ethanol plants and connected with communities in the same situation, which led to the production of a prospectus. Product support is offered in the form of product testing for bacteria, shelf life determination, sample line processing, packaging evaluation, product naming and much more.
It was founded in 1992 by the University of Nebraska as a result of: Growth in the number of small businesses. The development sent the first rural election to 8.7 counties (five metro and 82 rural) in the state of Nebraska. References to the Internet are everywhere: in magazines, on television, and in the daily newspaper.
As a result, funds will not be wasted on duplicating the same programs as it was before. Many small business people have good ideas and excellent intentions, but their expertise in marketing and microeconomic decisions is insufficient to succeed in the modern market. Use of the internet and e-mail facilities rapidly reduce communication time (at the speed of light instead of x number of days in the past) helping faster business.
It was formed in response to a farm crisis in the 1980s and a massive decline in the rural economy. In 1990, the government undertook a downsizing program, and at the same time they began to look at the entire field of philanthropy, and what was discovered was that the US was in the midst of the greatest generational change in history, and so that they needed to frame what they saw as an opportunity. Don Mackie concluded that the following factors were key points the group needed to take on board:. the need to act smartly. a special emphasis on best practices learned from neighbors. the need to invest money and time in the network.
It was emphasized that this form of community management allowed people and or gave permission to individuals to be involved in the decision-making process of even the most established communities. The community is predominantly Meninite and the attitude of the people seemed to matter. New initiatives in cities do not necessarily originate from formal decision-making groups.
Situated in a park on the main road through Ainsworth, in the middle of the town, it is well placed for its purpose and offers information on local borough/town attractions. Thus, V+Ts are more likely to spend time and $ in a state, city, or town if they look at the features advertised by admission centers.
