The eligibility of players shall be:
• Open Events — all affiliated members of the BN for whom the event is designated - Premier, Division 1, Saturdays – Division 1 Thursdays.
• Minor Events — all affiliated members of the BN for whom the event is designated – Division 2, 3, 4 ,5, 6 Saturdays – Division 2,3,4Thursdays.
If a person plays Thursday & Saturday Pennant days, the eligibility for entry to BN Championship events will be decided on the highest division played. If the number of games in each Pennant division are equal, the highest division played will take precedence.
NOVICE:
A novice bowler is a person, who has not previously played in a novice or pennant competition.

The Bowls North Match Committee is responsible for the umpire/s appointment;
arrange sufficient markers for single matches and to advise the Host Club.
If insufficient umpires are appointed, the Club is to provide at least one umpire per green before the commencement of play.
2.6 NO SHOWS AT BOWLS NORTH COMPETITIONS CHANGE TO:
(e) The Match Committee reserves the right to refuse entry to future BN championship events.

3.5 PRACTICE CHANGE TO:
(a) Players may practice on the green they are playing on, on any rink available apart from the rinks that are scheduled for play in that division. Practice must cease thirty (30) minutes prior to the start time.
3.9 STARTING TIME, DESIGNATED BREAKS AND NO SHOWS CHANGE TO:
An afternoon tea break is to be taken at 2.30pm for a minimum of 15 minutes within this break the Host Club MUST provide the minimum of tea & coffee and biscuits for their opposition.
This MUST be adhered to unless there is a mutual agreement between the two clubs at least 1 day in advance of the game.

For games involving St Helens ONLY, the starting time for both home and away games will be 12.30pm (12.15 roll up).
3.14 CHANGE OF SURFACES DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER CHANGE TO: CHOICE OF SURFACE
(a) All greens are available for pennant play including grass, synthetic and indoor/undercover.
(b) In the event that indoor games are the ONLY games played in a division in that round then the match points will be shared, regardless of the result.
(c) Visiting clubs should contact home club to clarify which green will be used for pennant play
(d) If a majority of games in each division are played, then the results will stand.
3.15 EXTREME/ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS BEFORE START

3.17 EXTREME HEAT POLICY
The following will apply for Bowls North Championships and Pennant.
(a) When temperature reaches 35 degrees, play/competition should be interrupted at 20-minute intervals (at the completion of the end of play) for a period of five (5) minutes, during which time, drinks should be made available. Any time limit imposed on the interrupted match will be waived.
(b) Where the temperature reaches 38 degrees. It is recommended that play/competition is discontinued.
(c) Should a calibrated weather station be available at the venue, the following guidelines then be applied.
i. When the heat stress index reached 36 at the venue play/competition should be interrupted at 20-minute intervals (at the completion of the end in play) for a period of five (5) minutes, during which time, drinks should be made available. Any time limit imposed on the interrupted match will be waived.
ii. Where the heat stress index reached forty (40) at the venue, play/competition will be suspended.
iii. The heat stress index at the venue will be determined by the Tournament Director.
iv. The heat stress index is a combination of humidity and the temperature and can be readily found on a smart phone using goggle weather.
v. The umpire of the day and match managers should take notice of the conditions and monitor the heat stress of players.
vi. If any area is affected by bushfire smoke. The umpire of the day shall monitor the effects on players

3.32 FINALS CHANGE TO:
(c) Umpires for all final matches shall be appointed by the Bowls North Match Committee with consultation with the Umpires Panel.
ADD: 3.35 DUMPING OF BOWLS
The BA Greens Protection Policy as amened from time to time will apply to all Bowls North events. The Policy outlines actions that can be taken by clubs or Bowls North against players who dump their bowls and in doing cause damage to greens.

o 8 Badges – A copy of BOTH CLUB’S – team scorecards (COPY OF BOTH SIDES) should be emailed to the BN Office –
[email protected]. Eight Badges will be presented to teams at the Annual General Meeting of Bowls North.
