proposeD temporAry roAD closUre – intersection of celeBrAtion Drive AnD lexington Drive, BellA vistA

In accordance with Section 115 of the Roads Act 1993, approval has been given to close the intersection of Celebration Drive and Lexington Drive, Bella Vista from 8pm on Friday, 28 July until 5am on Monday, 31 July 2017.

Eastbound traffic only will be permitted to travel along Celebration Drive from Old Windsor Road through to Brighton Drive between 5am and 9pm on Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30 July 2017.

The purpose of the closure is to allow for the upgrading of the Celebration Drive and Lexington Drive intersection which is being undertaken in conjunction with the Sydney Metro Northwest project.

Details on alternate routes for vehicle access to the area can be found at sydneymetro.info/northwest

Motorists are advised to follow traffic control signage in the area and drive with caution.

mAKing A sUBmission to coUncil

Any person may make a submission to Council. Submissions which contain objections must be specific in their content. If you make a submission objecting to, or supporting, a planning application you must disclose donations or gifts made to Councillors or Council staff. All submissions must be addressed to the Acting General Manager, Michael Edgar. For your ease, Council’s preferred method of receiving submissions is via Council’s website – search for ‘Major Plans on Exhibition’.

NOMINATING FOR ELECTION AS A COUNCILLOR

To nominate as a Councillor, you must lodge a nomination form and $125 nomination deposit with the Returning Officer from Monday, 31st July to 12 Noon Wednesday, 9th August 2017.

To nominate for Mayor, you must lodge a nomination form and $125 nomination deposit with the Returning Officer from Monday, 31st July to 12 noon Wednesday, 9th August 2017.

Candidate Information sheets: Every candidate is required to lodge a candidate information sheet with their nomination.

Grouping of candidates and group voting squares for councillor election:

Two or more councillor candidates may form a group. A group may, in certain circumstances, request a group voting square on the ballot paper. A request to form a group and have a group voting square on the ballot paper must be lodged with the Returning Officer by 12 noon Wednesday, 9th August 2017.

WHERE AND WHEN TO NOMINATE

Your nomination form and deposit must be lodged with the Returning Officer at the The Hills RO Office, Level 2, 72-74 Cecil Avenue, Castle Hill NSW 2154.

Nominations will be accepted during business hours from 8:30am Monday, 31st July 2017 to 12 noon Wednesday, 9th August 2017.

YOU MUST ALSO REGISTER AS A CANDIDATE FOR FUNDING PURPOSES In addition to being nominated, candidates must be registered and have an official agent before accepting political donations or making payments for electoral expenditure.

The last date for registration is 12 Noon Wednesday, 9th August 2017.

If you registered as a candidate for a previous election, you must reapply to be registered for this election.
