MINERS' HOMESTEAD LEASES ACT AMENDMENT ACT 1979, No. 8

An Act to amend the Miners' Homestead Leases Act 1913-1978 in certain particulars and for another purpose

[ASSENTED TO 20 APRIL, 1979]

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. Short title and citation. (1) This Act may be cited as the Miners' Homestead Leases Act Amendment Act 1979.

(2) The Miners' Homestead Leases Act 1913-1978 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Miners' Homestead Leases Act 1913-1979.

2, 3. Amended Principal Act.

4. Negation of s. 21 (3) of Principal Act. It is hereby declared that, notwithstanding the provisions of the repealed section 21 (3) of the Principal Act, where at any time prior to the commencement of this Act the applicant for or purchaser of a miner's homestead failed to comply with the provisions of section 21 of the Principal Act he shall not be deemed to have abandoned the miner's homestead.
