For the purposes of this Act, a member shall be deemed not to have ceased to be a member merely by reason of retirement by reason of expiration of time or dissolution of the general meeting. C is the total basic salary according to the period of service of this person in the assembly. E represents the total basic salary according to the length of service of the Member of Parliament.
G represents 40 percent of the basic salary payable on the date of the member's death; H represents the factor set out in Schedule II against the widow's nearest birthday age at the date of the member's death; Provided that where a former member has converted part of his pension entitlement into a lump sum under section 18 or 19A, that amount shall be reduced by the proportion in respect of which the conversion election has been made. the former member's entire pension right;
D represents the annual amount of pension (being the pension to which the statement of "C" in this paragraph (c) refers) which was payable or, as the case may be, would have been payable under this Act to the person through whom the widow has the right to have that person cease to be a member. C represents the annual amount of the pension payable under this Act to the person through whom. D represents the annual amount of pension (being the pension to which the statement of "C" in this paragraph (d) refers) which was payable or, as the case may be, would have been payable under this Act to the person through whom the widow has the right to have that person cease to be a member.
E represents the factor set out in Appendix II against the age on the widow's nearest birthday as on the date of the former member's death.

C represents a fraction equal to the percentage of the amount of widow's claim in respect of which the widow wishes to replace a widow's pension;. C represents the annual amount of the pension which was payable under this Act to the person through whom the widow acquired the right immediately before his death or, where that person made an election under section 18 or 19A, or section 24 on him of applied, which under this Act would have been payable to that person immediately before his death except for the election or the application of section 24;. E represents a fraction equal to the percentage of the amount of widow's claim in respect of which the widow wishes to replace a widow's pension.
C represents the factor set out in Schedule II against the widow's nearest birthday to the date of death of the former member. B represents the annual amount of pension (being the pension referred to in the statement under "A" in this subsection) which has been paid or would, as the case may be, be paid under this Act to the person through whom the widow becomes entitled when that person ceases to be a member. In applying the provisions of section 20A or 20B to a female dependent referred to in that section, the reference to "death or remarriage" in those provisions shall be construed as the reference to "death, remarriage or marriage"*.
Reduction of pension in certain cases. (a) a person receiving or entitled to a pension under this Act becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly again. To the extent necessary to give effect to the provisions of this Part, the provisions of the repealed Acts specified in the Schedule to this Act (except section 11A of the Parliamentary Contribution Funding of the Pension Fund Act 1948 as amended ) in respect of annuities and payments in respect of one or more children of a deceased member or a person who has ceased to be a member shall, notwithstanding its termination, be deemed to remain in force. In relation to payments to a child or children under this Part, subsection (3) of section 14A of The Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Fund Act of 1948 as amended shall be read as if a reference to "the rate of interest under this Act" were a reference to a rate. of annuity increased according to the provisions of this section.
All contributions and moneys paid to the Fund under this Act and all payments from the Fund on account of pensions, annuities, payments in respect of a child or children and refunds of contributions to the Fund paid under this Act shall be exempt from any charge. . or liability whatsoever for or in respect of any income tax, stamp duty, probate or succession duty, or other tax or duty imposed by any law of this State. Any order made for costs pursuant to subsection (9) of this section may be enforced in the same manner as a judgment of the Supreme Court.
