Doncaster Dolphins
State Short Course Championships
Doncaster Dolphins had a successful day at the Victorian Masters Short Course championships on 18th July, placing 3rd overall. 21 swimmers competed; some new and some returning to Masters Competition. It was pleasing to see many swimmers performing better than expected, with numerous PBs recorded. Overall we achieved 35 first places, set one National record, 11 Victorian records and a further 16 club records.
We also had the pleasure of catering for our lovely officials, without whom our competitions would not be possible.

Dolphin of the Month
DoM for June was awarded to Lou Pasquale, one of our new swimmers who joined us after completing last year’s Swim for Life program.
Lou has impressed us with his dedication and vastly improved fitness.
DoM for July Is Alison Leeson who competed exceptionally well in her first Masters event at State Short Course and had an “absolutely fantastic time”.
Christmas in July
A very miserable afternoon was brightened by a fantastic lunch at Wild Oak Restaurant in the beautiful (but foggy) Dandenongs, as the Dolphins celebrated in their usual noisy style on Sunday 12 July. This annual event has become a permanent fixture in our busy social calendar.
Vale John Marriott
Doncaster Dolphins MSC was saddened to hear of the passing of John Marriott.
John was a highly valued member of our club who enjoyed training sessions on Saturday mornings, adding fun and motivation for the swimmers in his lane.
John will be greatly missed and always remembered fondly.
