Draft 2 Applied syllabus focus groups
Purpose
To:
• provide information about the Draft 2 Applied syllabus online focus group events
• invite Heads of Department, teachers and other stakeholders to provide expert advice to shape the development of Draft 2 Applied syllabuses.
Background
Draft 1 of each redeveloped Applied syllabus was released for public consultation during Term 1, 2022. The feedback from consultation has been reviewed and the QCAA has begun to prepare Draft 2 in response to this feedback.
Prior to the finalisation and release of Draft 2 of the Applied syllabuses for public consultation, the QCAA is providing an opportunity for interested stakeholders to attend online focus group events to preview proposed changes and provide the QCAA with expert advice and guidance. While this opportunity is open to anyone who is interested, it will be particularly relevant for Heads of
Department and teachers.
Information
In total, 52 online focus group events have been scheduled for the remainder of Term 2, 2022.
At least two events focusing on unit design and assessment have been scheduled for each Applied syllabus individually. An event focusing on syllabus objectives has been scheduled for each Applied syllabus either individually or together with similar Applied syllabuses from the same learning area.
What you need to do
For the details of these events, and to register, please visit the QCAA website at https://events.qcaa.qld.edu.au/Catalogue.aspx?yl=3.
