FOKM OF BEQUEST.
The following form of Bequest may be used by intending benefactors of the University :
" 1 give to t h e University of Melbourne the sum of to be paid free of taxal ion and I direct t h a t the receipt of the Chancellor or the official receipt of the Registrar be accepted as a sufficient discharge for the same."
Note: The University will strictly carry out any ex- pressed intention of a testator as to the object to whicli he wishes his gift applied. Tt will also in the case of a substantial gift take steps to perpetuate t h e name of the donor. • . 1 • - ••
Tt is well, unless previous consultation has taken place with the University, to express in terms as general as
possible any special request as to the applicatiou of a gift- Otherwise tbe' University may be hampered in carrying out the real intention of a' testator by detailed directions which are unsuitable to existing conditions.
