An Act to amend the Bread Act, 1954.
[Assented to 30th November, 1972]
BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Bread Act Amendment Act, 1972".
(2) The Bread Act, 1954, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the "Bread Act, 1954-1972".
(3) The Bread Act, 1954, is hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act".
2. This Act shall come into operation on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
3. Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by striking out from paragraph (a) of the definition of "bread" in subsection (1) the passage "six ounces avoirdupois" and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "170 grams".
4. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended-
(a) by striking out from paragraph (a) of subsection (1) the passage "nine ounces and not more than ten ounces"
and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "255 grams and not more than 290 grams" ;
1972 Bread Act Amendment Act, 1972 No. 120 (b) by striking out from paragraph (b) of subsection (1) the passage "eighteen ounces and not more than twenty ounces" and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "510 grams and not more than 570 grams";
(c) by striking out from paragraph (c) of subsection (1) the passage "thirty-six ounces and not more than forty ounces" and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "1020 grams and not more than 1 140 grams";
(d) by striking out from paragraph (d) of subsection (1) the passage "seventy-two ounces" and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "2040 grams";
and
(e) by striking out from subsection (2) the passage "twenty- seven ounces and not more than thirty ounces" and inserting in lieu thereof the passage "760 grams and not more than 850 grams".
