An Act to authorize the Treasurer to raise moneys to the amount of three million seven hundred thousand pounds for various public works, and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the. advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows :
1. This Act may be cited as the" Publio Purposes Loan Aot,
1945" •2. In this Act "Financial Agreement" means the Financial Agreement made between tbe Commonwealth and all the States and set out in the schedule at the end of the Amending Financial Agreement Act,
19::t4.3. The Treasurer may arrange for the sum of three million seven hundred thousand pounds to be borrowed in accordance with the Financial Agreement on behalf of the State.
4. All sums of money borrowed under section
3of this Act shall be applied to the several purposes set forth in the first schedule to this Act, and to the extent set forth in that schedule;
alid shall be applied by the Treasurer in such amounts and
manner as the Governor, by warrant under his hand, counter-
signed by the Chief Secretary, from time to time authorizes and
directs.
5. All salaries of officers, payable out of moneys borrowed
~::,~:e~::under this Act, shall be annually submitted to Parliament.
ParUament.6. The Governor may, by warrant countersigned by the
Advancel.Chief Secretary, authorize the Treasurer to advance to the proper responsible Minister of the Crown, for the purposes of this Act, any sums of money not exceeding in the whole the amount authorized by tills Act to be borrowed; and an amount equal to the sums of money so advanced shall be retained by the Treasurer out of any moneys borrowed under the authority of this Act, and applied in repayment of the moneys so advanced.
7. In addition to the amount of three million seven hundred

r~~:~~n8eebe borrowed, there may be borrowed under that section . such sum as will be sufficient to pay all discounts, charges,
and other expenses incurred in connection with the borrowing of that amount of three million seven hundred thousand pounds and the amount of those discounts, charges, and other expenses shall be charged proportionately to the several purposes set forth in the first schedule to this Act.

The Treasurer may apply any moneys credited to the loan account for the time being in his hands to the several purposes set forth in the second schedule to this Act and to the extent therein set forth, and in such amount and manner as the Governor by warrant under his hand countersigned by the Chief Secretary from time to time authorizes. and directs.
9. Whenever the Treasurer receives any repaid loan moneys
