VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT/BEHAVIOUR – 2020 SEASON

VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT – TEAM MANAGERS Confidentiality

You shall agree to maintain in confidence all information concerning the business of the organisation, which is not generally available to the public. You must operate in accordance with the Privacy Act.

You must maintain the confidence of any information deemed “confidential” and agree to prevent its unauthorised disclosure to or use by anybody.

Conduct

You are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct and personal presentation while working for us and when representing or perceived to be representing the organisation, at home and away.

Gifts and Favours

You are not to offer or provide gifts, entertainment or benefit to anyone without prior approval from the Committee. You are not to accept gifts, entertainment or benefits from any individual or company over the value of $50 without prior approval by the Committee.

Use of Authority

You shall not use, or permit the use of your position, title or authority, to give an improper advantage to or advance private interest of another organisation, person or group of persons.

You are not authorised to sign any documents, agreements or correspondence committing the organisation to any financial or legal risks. Authorisations are strictly controlled by the organisation’s Committee and you should direct any questions to the Secretary for approval by the Committee.

Media

The Committee and their selected representatives will make all statements, press releases, or announcements to the media. You are to refer any questions, enquiries, or requests for statements to the Committee. Unless designated by the Committee, a volunteer shall not deal with the media.

Social Media

Publication/commentary on social media carries similar obligations to any other kind of publication or commentary. All uses of social media must follow the same ethical standards you must otherwise follow under the organisations policies, procedures and codes of conduct and breaches will not be tolerated.

Client Service

You will perform your services to the best of your ability to maintain the professional image and presentation of the organisation. All clients will receive the highest standard of service irrespective of age, gender, race, marital status, disability, sexual preference or religion.

I agree

To act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the organisation.

Not to exploit my position or power to further my personal, political or business interests at the expense of the best interest of others.

That I have a duty to use due care and diligence in fulfilling my task.

That I will follow all procedures to the best of my ability at all times and promote healthy environments and safe practices.

That I will follow safety instruction provided to me.

I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of others their cultures, beliefs, opinions and decisions of others although we may not always agree, and will treat each other with respect, courtesy, sensitivity, tact, consideration and humility.

Not to physically or verbally abuse or harass anyone associated with the Organisation.

That as a member I am obligated to support the removal of all forms of abuse and harassment.

To accept that there is a chain of command and respect each other regardless of position.

To know and abide by the rules, regulations and standards of the organisation and encourage others likewise and accept both the letter and the spirit of the rules.

Not to place the organisation’s reputation or business at risk.

Not to contact the media, government or others who can effect our reputation prior to a decision by the Committee on matters of concern or issue. Doing so is a breach and will mean immediate termination as a member of our workforce.

All uses of social media must follow the same ethical standards that I must follow under the our policies, procedures and codes of conduct and behaviour.

To care for and respect the equipment provided.

To hand back all property of the organisation.

DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE

On accepting my position, I am declaring my obligation to abide by the organisation’s Constitution, Policies, Procedures, Codes of Behaviour and Conduct and the Rules of the game and know the Association is empowered to set the standard and penalties for non-compliance.
