Only in case of parental failure - and with the consent of the parents - can a doctor, a marriage guidance expert or a school teacher undertake this very delicate task. Sexual education consists in the transmission of a series of anatomical, physiological and psychological facts related to sexual union.

MR. MARTIN - CLERK
It was important, for he had been doing this for many years now—and there was always a crowd on Fridays, and he enjoyed crowds, oh, how he hated those crowds—' His weekly paper saved him eleven pence. He was about to buy his ticket when the familiar cloud of smoke and steam that accompanies the arrival and departure of the modern counterpart to Stephenson's "Rocket". Now he had to wait for 7.33 and 7.33 would make him late - and it was also always so crowded.
He knew a warm, sunny spot in the nearby park where he could sit and think. Duncan would wonder where he was, but he wouldn't be at work today. No one would check his work because he would make sure he had that day's invoices in the correct order.
THROUGH NO FAULT OF OURS
He smiled wryly as he realized that his name was of no great help to them in satisfying their sexual appetites as a new generation of Australian war heroes arrived to attract the attention of their girls. And as the light of the rising moon entered his open recess, and as he moved, the eyes of his tragic face seemed to glimmer ever so slightly. But civilization destroys everything it touches and they were part of the whole rotten thing.
The clatter of crockery interrupted his wanderings, and he stood reluctantly on unsteady feet and looked wistfully at the moonlit land beyond the river. him as his eyes wandered listlessly towards the vast city. Suddenly they narrowed, focused sharply on the immense roof of the butter factory where he performed his aimless tasks among those who despised him. But after he disappeared, his hunched shadow was seen following him along the wall.
THE TREASURE OF YAMASHITA
The smile faded from his face as his cries reminded him of his youngest, Carl, his last hope and solace, who looked more like him than the others. Why should not a man weep when his favorite son has denied him as surely as Peter denied his master.
THE ZAIBATSU
KIANDRA TRIP
After putting on heavy snow boots and strapping on the skis, the slope became littered with many would-be skiers. In this respect, Bernice Burnell was the envy of all when she demonstrated the remarkable feat of standing with one ski pointing skyward while the other slid slowly down the slope. Although it was only a matter of sitting on them and being pulled along, Robin McKenna still managed to suddenly put herself in the snow.
Carmel Deering and others made good use of the piano and thus provided the music for the party. A day was spent inspecting the Yarrangobilly Caves and visiting other local attractions such as the thermal pool where Lesley and Laurie and others enjoyed a swim in the warm water. Tuesday was spent in shopping and sightseeing and that evening we left the Central Station for home, arriving on Wednesday morning after spending 10 enjoyable and memorable days in the Alps.
COLLEGE COMMERCIAL GROUPS
The eight Home Economics girls vowed to put their education to good use by knitting a bulky knit for the bus driver. Murray's careful planning and interference in our activities, the trip would not have been the success it was.
HOME SCIENCE NOTES
Q'LD ASSEMBLY BOOKSHOP
SCHOOL BOOKS
Severe criticism has been leveled by other students because many housekeeping girls spend all their lunch hours working on housekeeping subjects instead of participating in the college lunch activities or showing any college interest. Regarding the subjects at university, I hope everyone is aware of the Home Economics course. Subjects have been added to the old course, called Domestic Science, for example Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Education, Psychology, and the existing course is called Home Science.
Ill-informed people do not recognize the higher status associated with the title Home Science, but as everyone knows, we prefer the latter title. I hope this will be an opportunity for all students to admire the interior of our building and also for the Home Economics students to showcase their talents. Finally, I make a request, a two-sided request: would the organizers of any meeting, or luncheon activity, or clubs asking for help, or students reading notices or selling university magazines, please consider Home Science.

See how many realize after a year or two of other studies at university that they want to take up teaching. There are a lot of bricks to be laid, but they can only be laid one at a time.
A VISIT FROM SYDNEY TEACHERS'COLLEGE
34;FAIR GO, SPORT!"
Should the school become more of a force in the community, if it becomes more of a "community centre", with local people making more use of its facilities outside of school hours. Isn't it a shame that the most capable coaches spend most of their time helping the better players, who don't need much help anyway, while a much larger group of less capable but nonetheless interested kids suffer from a lack of encouragement, and lack of training.
Whitehead has a lot to say about what education is and some of the evils that arise when we try to educate today. The child must internalize this and understand its application here and now in the circumstances of his real life. The child should experience the joy of discovery.” Pedants scoff at an education that is useful.
The more advanced civilization becomes, the more difficult it is to provide the much needed integration to our educational efforts. As Whitehead says - "the fatal disconnection of subjects kills the vitality of our modern curriculum." The wise teacher today tries hard to integrate his teaching in such a way that the child will be able to integrate his learning and gain satisfaction in doing so. Much more could be said about what education is and dangers to beware of when educating.
THE TEACHER AND THE UNION
In line with this is the request sometimes made during an interview at the Union Office: "This won't go any further, will it?" It should be understood that all letters received at the Union Office and all interviews there are strictly confidential. The teacher writing the letter or requesting the interview has a personal freedom to discuss the matter with his friends, but the Union official in question does not. Perhaps this is also the reason why some teachers come to the Union Office through their leaders instead of exercising their right to make a direct and personal approach.
He will get the answer and no one in the Office is free to publish the fact that he has looked up the relevant information. However, if he makes the anonymous approach, he will be met on that footing - the Union Office does not give information to unidentified people. If a teacher or other person calls, he will be greeted with: "Queensland Teachers' Union - can I help you?" We must add that we can render the best service to those who boldly come forward and proclaim their cause, and for whom the whole world has the greatest respect.

AUSTRALIAN RULES
In the first match against the University, teachers failed to play the full hundred minutes and the defeat came in the last quarter. At the end of the first round of play, the teachers still had to record a victory. The highlight of the season was a weekend trip to Armidale to play New England University in two games, one on Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday morning.
The standard of his play was rewarded with him winning the George Hall Medal for the best and fairest player in the class. If the Teachers' Football Club is to go on to bigger things, several aspects will need to be considered. A dedicated and conscious committee should be created to handle the administrative side efficiently.
AUSTRALIAN BASKETBALL
Ross Coulter was the logical centre-man and with Bob Christie and Colonel McCowan in the key forward berths the attack looked strong. At the time, the club welcomed the appointment of former Morningside player Ron Turner as coach. All team members had a great time this weekend, but the two games, and the Saturday evening in between, proved to be a bit too much.
Ross, with Bob Topping, was selected to play in a Reserve Grade Brisbane side which went to Cairns. Each player must put his whole heart into the game and concentrate for one hundred minutes. If these conditions are taken into account, the Teachers' Football Club will be firmly established, and that.
