Monthly News — July 2011 New administration at Masters Swimming office
After 13 years in the Administrators role Di Coxon-Ellis has retired as of Friday July 29th. She and Col intend to trip around Australia in their newly purchased van and we wish them all the best for their retirement years. They will not be lost to Masters Swimming though, we will still see them officiating from time to time at carnivals.
We welcome our new Administrator Jillian Pateman who swims with Blue Mountains Phoenix. Jillian has a varied admin background and you can read more about her on the NSW website.
Jillian has had a 2 week handover from Di, nowhere near enough to learn everything, but she is well on her way and gaining in confidence every day. We ask that you be gentle with her, and introduce yourself to her and where you fit in the organisation when you ring the office or see her at carnivals. It is not an easy job to take over from someone who has been around for many years and we often get calls in the office where we are expected to know who is speaking on the other end of the phone, without any introduction.
We look forward to the next phase of our Masters Swimming life with much enthusiasm as we head towards hosting the National Championships in 2013, and we wish Jillian all the best in her new role.
We also say goodbye to Malcolm Heath and Jan Cameron Smith who were volunteers in the office during the past few years, who have also decided it is time to retire, but we will still see Malcolm around or in the pool. We thank them both for their contribution to our great
organisation.

Volunteers needed
We are still looking for an e-editor/ content manager to format our new branch e-newsletter, While we are looking, the next edition of Splash will be the same format and Sue Wiles will assist Neil Keele to compile the next newsletter so send in your club contributions as normal If you would like to volunteer for this position, or would like to know more about it please contact Jillian in the office.
We are also looking for a new Coaching Director, one of their duties will be to oversee the new coaching courses, the Intro Coach and Club Coach. The role has been made easier as the coaching path now requires the completion of an online Beginning Coaching Principles course as a prerequisite, which is independent of the Masters Swimming course. Those interested in becoming coaches should go to the NSW Sport & Recreation page
www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/training/coach and enrol for the online course (cost $55). Please also contact us to let us know if you wish to attend an Intro Coach course in the ACT or Sydney.
