Masters Swimming Australia Club on Line

The roll-out of training for Masters Swimming Australia new database, ‘Clubs on Line’ has commenced for our Branch Administrators and Registrars. Club Registrars will be sent instructions and an address to log on to the test database to have a ‘play’ with the system before it goes ‘live’.

Strategies for 2008/9

At the AGM it was suggested that some of the annual awards could be combined as there are very few clubs who submit nominations for many awards. The new Board will investigate the strategy in combining awards.

It was also suggested that a subsidy be paid to clubs for hiring Semi- Automatic Timing (SAT).

Also there was discussion whether MSNSW would purchase a new defibrillator or a subsidy be paid to those host clubs who can’t access a defibrillator through their venue or St Johns.

Another suggestion was carried over from the last AGM of a travel subsidy for officials who travel large distances to carnivals.

The Minutes will be available on the NSW website and any comments or suggestions are encouraged.

Annual Report

A copy of the Annual report was handed out to the clubs attending the AGM and the entire report is available on the MSNSW website. A copy is enclosed for those who did not attend or did not received their copy at the Trinity meet or Hunter Festival of Sport.

Betty Grant Award

Six nominations for the 2007 Betty Grant Award were received for Anita Saviane (Cronulla Sutherland), Val Lincoln (Gosford), Tony Howe (Hills), Biff Grindley (Pirates), Ron Giveen (Warringah), and Colin Cliff (Wests Auburn). This memorial award was presented to Val Lincoln at the Trinity meet by Betty’s son-in–law, Ian Neeson.

General Rules of Competition

After considerable revision and compilation, a consolidated document entitled General Rules of Competition has been completed. This is intended to bring together all MSNSW Rules, policies and competition requirements in one place, and will include the Branch Pointscore (BPS) rules, MSNSW policies, Aerobic Swimming information, Records procedures and so on. This document is available on the MSNSW website, just click on the Rules and Policies tab. A hard copy can be forwarded from the Branch Office on the request of any Club or member. We welcome comments and suggestions for amendment or refinement.
