Assessment highlights 2016
Purpose
To notify schools about Assessment highlights 2016, and describe the process for submitting student work to be considered for the publication.
Background
In 2015, the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) published Assessment highlights to showcase high quality student work in selected senior authority subjects, from schools across Queensland.
For the inaugural Assessment highlights 2015, student work was collected by the QCAA through annual moderation processes.
This year, schools are being invited to identify and submit exemplary student work for inclusion in the new print edition of the Assessment highlights 2016.
Information
Schools are invited to submit one sample of exemplary student work from Authority subjects in each of the following categories of learning areas (a maximum of three samples in total per school):
• Mathematics or Science
• The Arts, Physical Education, Health or Technologies
• English, Languages, Business or Humanities/Social Sciences
Student work submitted should be:
• the authenticated work of a current Year 12 student, completed as school-based assessment
• of outstanding quality (A qualities for all objectives assessed)
• in alignment with syllabus conditions and requirements for the relevant assessment instrument
• appropriate for publication to a wide and varied audience
• able to be printed in the publication (i.e. no audio or audio-visual material)
