Assessment highlights 2020
Purpose
To announce the release of Assessment highlights 2020 and to provide schools with details of the print/digital publication and the new online hub.
Background
With the release of the new QCE system, a refreshed and expanded Assessment highlights returns. Assessment highlights 2020 includes a print/digital publication and a new online hub.
Assessment highlights, in print and online, celebrates outstanding student assessment outcomes in Queensland. It is also a practical resource to support quality education in Queensland. The materials presented provide teachers and students with a variety of examples of exceptional assessment responses and insights into preparing high-level responses.
Information
The Assessment highlights online hub is now live at
www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/assessment/assessment-highlights.
The online hub provides a showcase of more than 30 exemplary student responses from internal assessment completed in Dance, Drama, Film & Television, Music, Music Extension and Visual Art in 2020. These dynamic and varied responses emphasise the richness of student experiences and assessment outcomes in The Arts.
The Assessment highlights online hub will be updated in coming years to represent all learning areas.
The print publication, Assessment highlights 2020, features 11 outstanding student responses from the 2020 cohort from Design, Digital Solutions, Earth & Environmental Studies, Food &
Nutrition, Health, German Extension, Literature, Music Extension (Musicology), Psychology, Specialist Mathematics and Visual Art.
Copies of Assessment highlights 2020 will be sent to all secondary schools from Monday 18 October.
A digital version of this publication is also available to view on the Assessment highlights online hub on the QCAA website at www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/assessment/assessment-highlights.
The students featured in Assessment highlights 2020 and their teachers are to be congratulated for their exemplary outcomes and their ongoing support of the program.
