Box Hill City Archers
MONTHLY UPDATE
July 2018
Annual General Meeting Date
A reminder that the club AGM will be held at 1pm Saturday July 28th in the club house. The AGM is where all committee roles are vacated and members are nominated into those positions. A vote is not required if they are nominated for a role uncontested.
Our current committee members are listed on the website. Existing committee members have indicated they are prepared to continue in their roles with the exception of Faye Logan, who after many years of service is retiring from her role as our Treasurer. Fortunately, we have had a breakthrough on this front, with Stephen Morley offering to take on the role of Secretary so that Chris Wood can be nominated as Treasurer.
Obviously nothing is set in concrete until the members have had their say on July 28th, but our impending doom has been averted!
Key Holders
In the past few months we’ve quietly inducted a few more members as key holders. In addition to all the Committee Members, we now have the following key holders:
● Jonathan Wirjoprawiro
● Stephen Morley
● Andy Siu
The clubhouse is to be locked whenever it is unattended, so if you need to get back into the clubhouse you will need to borrow a key from one of the key holders. On shooting days, the club is

able to be kept open until the last key holder needs to leave. Key holders are also permitted to practice on the indoor targets inside the clubhouse on non-shooting days. If you wish to apply for a key, information is available on the website.
Working Bee Scheduled
We have scheduled a working bee for Saturday August 11th. We’ll be looking to fix up some targets.
Monthly Shoot
Our winner of the June Monthly Shoot was Andy Siu! He shot a 780 for his Geelong score, a whopping 8 points higher than his current rating, giving him an adjusted score of 941/900. Chris wood was his closest challenger, also shooting above his rating on a recurve instead of his usual compound. Well done to everyone that participated! We had a fantastic turnout with 12 scores submitted.
Our August Monthly shoot will be a Drake, 90 arrows at 30m, all on the 80cm (small) face.
Remember, it’s handicapped, so don’t be daunted. Come and join in the fun!
