Nicola Ossher Events Jazz in the Tweed

Event accessibility

Jazz in the Tweed are five safe and free live music events designed for our senior citizens to reconnect with community. The events will be held at the Tweed Heads Civic and Cultural Centre – Auditorium, located at the corner of Brett Street and Wharf Street in Tweed Heads, NSW.

Every effort will be made to ensure the comfort of our guests. We will have staff and volunteers to assist guests with parking, entry to the event, seating, and morning tea service before presenting a live jazz performance.

Access services

Certain comfort items will be provided on request, including ear plugs,

cushions for seating and assistance with carrying morning tea items to tables.

Hand sanitiser and masks will also be available at the ‘accessibility station’

inside the venue.

Getting here

The Tweed Heads Civic Centre and Cultural Centre - Auditorium has free parking directly out the front of the venue, including designated accessible parking bays. Entry to the car park is via Brett Street. The closest overflow parking is on Brett and Wharf streets directly outside the car park. Additional parking is located around the back of the Centre near the Tweed Heads

Library. Bus services run past the venue and stop directly in front of Brett Street. Routes T600 and T601 service this venue. The Auditorium has a covered drop-off bay directly in front of the main entry, with stairs and a ramp access into the venue.

Mobility

Unisex accessible toilets are located in the foyer. The venue is accessible via a ramp and open double doors. All stairs are equipped with railings.

Volunteers will be available to assist with access into the venue.

Accessible seating

Please let us know in advance if you have access requirements. We will reserve the necessary space for patrons using wheelchairs or scooters.

Group bookings will be allocated tables, but there will be flexibility on the day for patrons to choose where they would like to sit. There will be a space allocated inside at your table and at the left side of the room on entry for walking and mobility aids, and staff and volunteers will assist with placement of these aids.

We are using plastic seating at trestle tables. If you find your seat is uncomfortable, please let staff know and we will aim to provide you with a cushion. Seating is general admission and can be chosen on a first serve basis on the day.
