SCHOOL COMPETITION
Orange Blossom Festival (OBF) 2016 will be a weekend full of family fun, showcasing what the Hills Community has to offer.
Some of the events, displays and activities running throughout the two-day festival include the OBF parade, classic car and bike display, rides, face painting, wildlife display and reptile show, markets, pop up library, petting zoo and community stage featuring performances from local dance and music schools and performance groups.
The Hills Shire Council established the OBF School Competition to engage children from pre-school through to Year 6. There are 3 different Competition Categories for each year group which are specified below.
All submissions from Pre-School to Year 6, will be displayed at The Hills Shire Council prior to OBF. From there, finalists will be chosen by the Mayor of The Hills Shire and displayed at OBF. The winning entries and school will be announced on the Community Stage on Saturday 17 September.
PRE-SCHOOL
Colouring in Competition with the top 30 entries to be shortlisted and displayed at OBF
Prize:
Two first prize winners each reveice — A‘Funtastic Party’
at Lollipops Playland, Castle Hill for eight children, valued at $250.
OVERALL PRE-SCHOOL WINNER
The pre-school with the highest number of entries will be the overall pre-school winner.
Prize:
The Big Yellow Bus will visit to the winning pre-school delivering 3 x 40 minute Gross Motor sessions (catering
for a maximum of 45 children in total). These sessions will feature fun, creative and challenging gross motor activities.

YEARS K-3

Prize:
First Prize — A Boing Central DIY Party for Maximum of 8 people valued at $160. Includes decorations, chips, lollies, cordial, jump socks and pizza. Duration 1.5 Hours
Second Prize — Two Family Passes to AMF Bowling valued at $56 per voucher
YEARS 4-6
Design your own OBF poster. The top 30 entries will be shortlisted and displayed at OBF. The poster must include the following elements:
• The OBF ‘O’
• The tag line ‘Squeezed with Zest’
• Hashtags #OBF #ZestFest Prize:
First Prize - 1 x Boing Central DIY Party for Maximum
of 8 people valued at $160. Includes decorations, chips, lollies,
cordial, jump socks and pizza. Duration 1.5 Hours
Second Prize – 2 x Family Passes to AMF Bowling valued at $56 per voucher
OVERALL SCHOOL WINNER
The School with the highest number of students who submit entries into the OBF School Competition will be the overall school winner.
Prize:
A combined presentation and world cup style practical skills session with Paul Wade Sports. Paul Wade will attend the winning school and host this clinic on a chosen and agreed day.

All entries can be submitted to the Council address below, or alternatively Council can arrange for a staff member to collect the entries from your school between Monday 29 August and Wednesday, 31 August 2016.
