Join Otter Aquatics in 2016 with one of their three swimming tours
A. 20th-‐25th August 2016. Cycling and swimming tour of Lake Constance (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
In the evening of Saturday 20th August 2016, we will meet in the medieval city of Constance (Konstanz in German) in southern Germany, not far from the northern Swiss city of Zürich, and the main city on Lake Constance (Bodensee in German). The next morning, we will collect our bikes and start to make our way cycling along the northern coast of this 572km2 ‘El Dorado for cyclists, gourmets, hikers and water sports enthusiasts’. We will overnight at two towns in Germany, one in Austria and one in Switzerland before returning along the southern coast to Konstanz on 25th August. Our cycling pace will be moderate, with daily distances of no more than 50km, and we do not have to stay in one bunch; we can meet up of an evening to share the day’s experiences if you like. Of course, we will have to have our daily swimming fix which we can do whenever and wherever we feel like it in the clean, clear, warm waters of the lake.
Otter Aquatics is partnering with Constance-‐based Radweg-‐Reisen who will provide our bicycles, make our accommodation bookings and mysteriously transport our luggage from one overnight stop to another. It is also fine to bring your own bikes if you wish. There will be a number of optional extras including boat trips before and/or after the cycling tour. Prices will vary depending on preferred accommodation (double, twin or single), whether you want us to organise additional nights’ stays in Konstanz or optional extras and whether you bring your own bike.
Cost, booking deadline and detailed trip notes will be available shortly. Please contact me if you are interested.
B. 26th August to 3rd September. Fjords and Coves of Montenegro
Otter Aquatics is partnering with Strel Swimming Adventures to offer this magnificent medium-‐distance swimming holiday in the clear, warm waters of the Adriatic.
We will gather in the evening of Friday 26th August 2016 at our hotel in Dubrovnik in southern Croatia and then spend a day experiencing this ancient city before being transported to our accommodation for the next week in the town of Pracanj in nearby Montenegro. Each day, we will travel by boat to wonderful protected swimming locations along the coast and into bays and fjords (the only European fjords outside Norway!). We will swim for about two kilometres each morning and, after lunch, swim another two kilometres. A highlight will be swimming in an abandoned Second World War German submarine pen. Strel Swimming Adventures will provide water safety support, stroke correction assistance ... and great food! Our chief guide will be the founder of Strel Swimming Adventures, Borut Strel.
To give you an idea of distances involved, each day will involve two 2k (or thereabouts) ocean swims, but it is not competitive, there is no time pressure and you can sit out a swim if you want. We will return to Dubrovnik in the afternoon of 3rd September or you may stay in Pracanj for longer at additional cost.
The cost will be $2,500 per person for shared accommodation or $3,000 for single accommodation.

C. 5th to 12th September. Lake Orta, Italy
This will be a repeat of the very successful trip in August/September 2015 with almost the same program. For those of you who did it this year you have a choice – do it again, or tell your friends about it. It will be just as good the second time around!
Experience some of the world’s most spectacular scenery View magnificent ancient architecture and artworks Stay in a beautiful, small, 12th Century town
Swim in idyllic Lake Orta, the most romantic of Italy’s lakes, and other nearby lakes.
We will stay in a 200 year old hotel in the 12th Century town of Orta San Giulio, right on the shore of Lake Orta. The town and lake are about half way between Milan and Turin and I will pick you up from Milan Malpensa airport in the late morning of Monday 5th September 2016 and drop you back at Milan Malpensa on the late morning of Monday 12th September..
We will do mostly short distance swims every day to and around the offshore island of Isola San Giulio, across Lake Orta, and in nearby Lake Maggiore and Lake Mergozzo. The shortest swim is 400 metres and the longest is 2.3k but, again, swims are non-‐competitive with no time limit and all are optional. Non-‐swimming partners and friends are very welcome. But the swimming is just an excuse really: the main purpose of our holiday is to experience the wonderful architecture, artworks, history (with an expert guide) and food of this great part of the world.
The cost will be $2,000 per person for double or twin accommodation and $2,500 per person for a single. Registrations, including payment of a 50% deposit, will be required by 31st December 2015. When you contact me, I will send you a detailed information brochure and draft program (but it’s also available on our website at http://www.otteraquatics.com.au/international-‐swimtours.html).
