HSC unit credit and course requirements

HSC unit credit for VET courses can be accredited to the Preliminary and/or HSC pattern of study.

Outdoor Recreation (120 indicative hours)

• accredited for a total of 2 units at the Preliminary and/or HSC level

• attempt all Group 1 units of competency and all units of competency from one subgroup in Group 3 (Activity Specialisations) to a minimum of 60 HSC indicative hours.

Outdoor Recreation (180 indicative hours)

• accredited for a total of 3 units at the Preliminary and/or HSC level

• attempt all Group 1 units of competency, Group 2 units of competency to a minimum of 60 HSC indicative hours and all units of competency from one subgroup in Group 3 (Activity Specialisations) to a minimum of 60 HSC indicative hours.

Outdoor Recreation (240 indicative hours)

• accredited for a total of 4 units at the Preliminary and/or HSC level

• attempt all units of competency in Groups 1 and 2 and all units of competency from two subgroups in Group 3 (Activity Specialisations*) and/or Group 4 (General Specialisations).

* at least one subgroup of the Activity Specialisations must be undertaken

For a course to count towards the HSC program of study students must satisfy the course completion criteria as required by the Board of Studies. Refer to Section 8.4 of the Assessment, Certification and Examination (ACE) Manual.
