Pauline Samson retires as Tasmanian Delegate to MSA
Pauline Samson, from Talays AUSSI Masters, will tell you herself that she has been involved in Masters Swimming for a long time and has fulfilled many roles over those years, but she has recently decided to retire from representing Tasmania at the National level on the Board.
To be specific, Pauline joined Masters in 1989 and she has been an active volunteer at Club, Branch and National level since then.
She has championed the Aerobic Trophy, now called Endurance 1000, and her Club has always done very well in the competition under her guidance.
Pauline announced at the Autumn General Meeting that she would be stepping down after 23 years as the MSTas Delegate to Masters Swimming Australia and handing over to Maciej Slugocki. She retains her position as the National Recorder which is undoubtedly keeping her very busy.
Pauline is a Life Member of Masters Swimming Australia and Masters Swimming Tasmania.
Robert Harris Steps down as President of MS South Australia
Robert Harris also announced his retirement as the South Australian Delegate to Masters Swimming Australia at the General Meeting, as he has also stepped down as President of Masters Swimming South Australia at their AGM. He is handing over the reins to Tom Bland from Atlantis Masters.
Rob has been at the helm for four years and is an active swimmer with both Atlantis and Onkaparinga Clubs. During his presidency, South Australia has attracted sponsorship with Channel 9 of the Summer Open Water events, appointed Sally Hunter as a Masters Swimming Ambassador and increased the number of Masters Clubs in the State.
Masters Swimming Australia thanks both Pauline and Robert for their contribution to Masters Swimming at the National Board level.
