PRESS RELEA5E FROM THE MEMBER FDR STUART. MR. G.F. KENEALLY.

HOUSING TRUST CONTRACTS W S » * 72.
Housing Trust contracts worth $300,000 were let in Port Augusta and Whyalla Stuart last month, the House of Assembly Member for Stuart, Mr. Gavin Keneally, announced today.
He said the Port Augusta project included 16 cottage flats for pensioners and IB villa flats for young married couples.
They will be built in Boston Street and at the corner of Elsie and Conroy Streets.
Alpine Constructions of Adelaide have secured contracts for these flats, which will all be available for rent.
Another two timber-framed single unit houses will be built in Hannagan Street and Nicholson Terrace, Port Augusta. Both houses will be sold. *
Successful contractors for this work are B.N. and V.J. Worden of Port Augusta.
New contracts in Whyalla Stuart involve the construction of ten timber-framed single unit rental houses in McDoUall Stuart Avenue and Sugarwood Crescent.
Mr. Keneally said contracts for these houses had been let to Delamere Constructions of Adelaide and the Whyalla firm of Plume Construction.
He said he was pleased the Trust was pushing ahead with its building programme in the area, and the construction of more pensioner units
?
was particularly gratifying.
"There is a great need for pensioner accommodation in our major centres, and I hope the Trust's new country programme will be expanded", he said.
