AUSSI will place the following statement on the membership registration form and National Swim Meet registration form, and will encourage clubs to include the information in their member information packs, and on swim meet entry forms.

Continued participation in swimming during pregnancy may pose health risks to women and their unborn children. As soon as you learn you are pregnant, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified medical practitioner as to:

You should also inform your club Safety Officer or other designated officer of your pregnancy.

AUSSI Harassment and Discrimination Policy

AUSSI is committed to providing a sport and work environment where individuals are treated with respect and dignity, free of harassment and discrimination (be that based on race gender, religion, credo or any other dissimilarity). AUSSI will not tolerate harassment or discriminatory behaviour under any circumstances and will take disciplinary action against anyone who breaches the AUSSI Harassment and Discrimination policy.

Harassment and Discrimination

Harassment is any behaviour by a person or organisation to whom this Policy applies which is offensive, abusive, belittling or threatening and which is directed at a person or a group of people because of a particular characteristic of that person or group of people. The behaviour must be unwelcome and the sort of behaviour a reasonable person would recognise as being unwelcome and likely to cause the recipient to feel offended, humiliated or intimidated. Whether or not the behaviour is Harassment is determined from the point of view of the person receiving the Harassment.
