Newcastle University Sport (NUsport) is responsible for the management of The Forum venues based at The University of Newcastle Callaghan Campus and in the Honeysuckle precinct. Operating 7 days per week, The Forum caters for over 14,000 members and proudly boasts Newcastle’s only Olympic size, flush deck, indoor heated swimming pool.The Forum Swim Academy is one of the largest in the region, catering to over 1200 children aged from 6 months to 18 years old, 7 days per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate professional to coordinate the running of The Forum Swim Academy including retention, new enrolments and progression of existing participants to achieve targets for a growing and sustainable full service swim school.With a passion for swimming and a thorough knowledge of swim schools, you will be a strong administrator with excellent customer service skills. Reporting to the Aquatics Manager, you will assist with the development of the Swim Academy team and the growth of the program.With a proactive personality, you will manage class enrolments, monitoring occupancy rates and making adjustments as required to ensure the delivery of a sustainable lesson. Flexibility and adaptability is key in this role that will see you supervising on the pool deck and teaching lessons in the water.Above all you will also be tasked with ensuring a
welcoming atmosphere for members, patrons and guests by delivering and adhering to NUsport’s 10 Pillars of World Class Customer Service.Selection Criteria:EssentialSignificant experience in
managing a swim school.Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.Current Swim Australia Teaching Certificate or equivalent.Valid Working With Children Check.Desirable/PreferredCertificate III in Aquatics.Bronze Assessor.Swim Coach Licence.Swim Australia or equivalent and/or Bronze Star Assessor.
